The remote stopped working on my fan and light . The light still works being swithced on and off with the wall switch but there is no way to manually turn the fan on. I checked the remote frequency switch and put new battery in it. Still nothing. Any Ideas. Approx 6 years old. Thanks Talan

Check with the gulf coast fan co. the man will tell you to send him both the remote and the receiver and will test them and call you regarding which one needs replacing etc. at least that is what he did for me. Good luck. rmlantz2 I think he is located in Texas. I found him on the internet.

Does your fan have chains and was the remoted added by you or factory installed? DIY remotes can be replaced for about $29. Back to you.

Does the LED light up on the remote?

Does the fan have pullchains?
