My check engine light came on and I noticed that the car was very low on oil.
I reset the light and added oil. I drove the car for a mile or so and noticed that the oil I put in was gone. I don't see any puddles of oil or any places that look like oil is leaking. 2 Years ago I had something like this happen and they found some sort of bolt loose that keeps tension on the timing belt. How can I check this? Could the oil be leaking into the timing belt case?

It could be that the oil doesn't leak out unless the engine is running, and maybe much faster than idle before much leaks out. Try looking carefully around the timing belt cover. If you see a bolt that has oil on it or below it, try tightening it up.

Thanks Labman. Could there be any way the oil is leaking inside the timing belt cover?

For the amount of oil your are using, it would soon fill up and run over. Do you have a window to inspect the belt? See if it looks oily.
