My son inherited a 98 Civic DX with the Check Engine light on. Auto Zone ran diagnostics and determined which sensor was failing. Replaced sensor and light went out, but car could not immediately pass inspection because it wasn't done "recycling".

How long does it take to recycle? I may have terminology wrong, but I believe it was an air sensor on the exhaust manifold.

Thanks.

Best thing is to use a scan tool to reset the ECM. It was likely an oxygen sensor that was replaced.
