Hi:
Applied for ITIN(for my wife) along my with Fed tax return about 8 weeks ago, I haven't received ITIN and Fed refund. I called IRS and they are asking me to wait for another week and resubmit the application.
This time If I want to apply in person , can I go to local IRS office and submit application , is this a good option?
Thanks
Ram

First, wait the week.
Then, call the local IRS office to see if they process ITINs. If so, go for it.

You,I also applied on 10th march and haven't received my wife's ITIN yet.have been asked by IRS to wait till end of this week and call them again... I have also been trying to track my refund on "wheres my refund" through my SSN but that also shows "no records"... I guess when they will process my wife's ITIN,then I could track my refund online through my SSN... till that time,I won't be able to track my refund too... is that right atlanta tax expert?

My clients for whom I completed W-7s are still getting their ITINS, some which were mailed in February.
The IRS is DEFINITELY behind in processing these requests.
Patience!

Hey guys , I know it's been a while since you discuss this, but I'm in the same situation , but my case is I applied for my wife's itin last year , and haven't got it yet , I call IRS but couldn't solve anything , almost an hour waiting and finally when a lady answers she took some info and then hang the phone over. What should I do, the first time I sent the w7 form along with my tax return, now this year I got to do same thing but , what should I do, I still need my wife's itin.

Did you call the ITIN center? When I first answered this question in 2007, the ITIN Processing Center has just then moved to Austin, Texas and they had no phone numbers at that time.
They have one now: it is 1-800-908-9982.
If they lost it (quite possible), you may want to re-submit through a Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA), who will give you more personalized service.
I am a CAA. If you want my professional help, double-click on my title above and scroll down to my profile/signature. You will find my email address and websites there.

If you signed the Form W-7, call 1-800-908-9982 and ask for the status of the ITIN request.
WHEN was it mailed. If anytime in March, you will not get the ITIN for at least another week.
