Left the US 60 days into 2004 so I am filing dual status . I have finished my 1040 it appears I am getting a refund
But I sold some stocks and got some dividends AFTER I left the states. The stocks are no problems cause they are 0% tax due to Cdn/US tax treaty but it appears I have to pay tax on the dividends (there was no withholding tax).. . so I owe money on my 1040NR
Since the 1040 refund is greater than the 1040NR amount owned... Do I need to send the IRS money for the 1040NR or will they credit my refund against the money owed?
