View Full Version : How Do I Decide Which Furnace To Buy?

I have decided to buy a high efficiency furnace. I have had two salesmen come to show me information on the products they sell. Trane and York. Both furnaces look like they have similar features. Both of the firms selling the furnaces are reliable, and have been in business a long time. The prices of the two furnaces are close enough that price will not be a deciding factor.

I have tried to find Consumer Report information but they do not seem to be providing the kind of information on furnaces that they do on other products.

Does anyone know of a site where I can find comparative information, or suggestions on how to decide which furnace to buy?

Thank you.

Your best bet is to go with the company you trust best. Remember it is the instillation that makes the system not the brand name. Try to find who is the best at installing and servicing the equipment. Ask for references and call them to discuss the company.

hvac1000 is right, no matter what brand you install if installed right will work fine, also check on warranties some brands offer free 10 year parts and labor and some cost extra. Do not skimp on the warranty.
