My periods have never been regular. I've never been able to predict when one is coming and how long it will last. The only constant is that they've always, without fail, been very heavy and come with huge clots that are (on average) about the size of the tampon.
There have been times when I went without a period at all for about 5-6 months and then bled for over 2 months straight, and this time around, I've been bleeding just over a month with constant clotting like I mentioned above. I'm changing tampons *and* pads (I have to wear both) at least once every hour or two. It's making me feel sick, tired, run-down, etc, and it shows no signs of stopping any time soon.
I know I need to see a doctor and have an appointment next week, but are there any ideas about what this may be?
Note: Previous ob/gyn visits have led me to learn that I have a small, somewhat underdeveloped uterus. Is this the cause of my problem, or another symptom?
Thank you for your time.
