I am looking for the name of an 1980s or early 90s TV movie. I don't remember much about it. All I remember is that a man and wife were divorced or separated and their little boy ( I think his name was David) went to stay with his dad for the weekend and his dad set the house on fire while the little boy was sleeping. I remember the mom visiting her son in the hospital. He told her that he wanted some ice cream. I would really appreciate ANY help anyone could give me. I have been trying to think of the name of this movie for a LONG time!

Well, this one was surprisingly easy, because the name of the character is, in fact, the title of the film. It's David (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094952/), a TV movie from 1988 with Bernadette Peters, John Glover, George Grizzard, Dan Lauria, and Matthew Lawrence as the eponymous character.
