I replaced the faucet in a first floor bathroom, cold water is fine but hot water flow was almost non existent. I checked and cleaned the screen in the tap which did increase the flow to a trickle but still nothing like an acceptable flow. I checked the hot water supply pipe and that is fine (I almost flooded the bathroom) before I turned the valve off again.
Hot water supply in the kitchen close by is fine. Should I check the faucet and if so what should I do.

Is this faucet double or single handle?

If it's double handle, shut the water off remove the cap and srew from the handle. Next, remove the nut that holds the valve body in place, once you have that off check the holes for debris there will be rubbers seats and springs in the holes, be sure not to lose them and watch very closely how every thing comes apart. Let me know if that gets you anywhere

Great advice -- If it's a Delta, Glacier Bay or a Peerless faucet.

Not so great if it's a Moen, Chicago, Newport Brass, Price Pfister, Kohler, American Standard, Danze, Doralfe, California Faucets, Altmans etc.. .

Even if it takes a couple of replies, it always pays to start by asking the brand and model of the valve in question.:p
