How do I password protect a file I am putting onto a portable hard drive say for example I want to save old emails or work that I am not using but want to protect so only I can access it?
Any help would be Awesome!

The easiest way I have found is either a passworded ZIP file, or by using NTFS permissions.
With the permissions you can set it so ony your account can access the files.

U could try using the "hidden files atttributes" so that u make the files hidden by right-clicking then going to properties and check the ''hidden'' box. U will always have to turn off hidden files viewing from folder options when u are done using the drive and then turn it on when u are going to use the drive. Its some form of security, isn't it?

Part of this depends on the OS you are using. Generally you can protect folders but not files. Usually using ZIP file is the best way.
