I have an obnoxious debt collection agency harassing me over an old Student Loan. I never received anything in the mail, just repeated phone calls to my office. After requesting it six times that they send me documentation via postage mail, nothing ever came in the mailbox. They just kept calling my office over and over. After repeated demands from myself not to call me at work, they stopped calling for me, and started calling for my employer. We recently changed payroll companies, and since the change there has been no deduction for the garnishment. My boss was contacted today and asked to comply with their demand to reinstate my garnishment. I informed my boss that since their forced action last year, I have learned there are Head-of-Household rights in Florida. My income is $1500 every 2 weeks. I support my girlfriend, 1 child, and myself on my income alone. Does anyone know what right I may or may not have when it comes to head of household? I would set something up with a creditor if they were at all reasonable, respectful, and willing to work, but this company is just ridiculous! My employer is afraid that he will be liable for not complying with their alleged "order" (which nobody has seen, nor has it been supplied upon demand), so he wants to start the garnishment again. I do not want my employer to have to deal with this, but I also need to put food on the table for my family and I. Please help if you can. Thank you.

Garnishment requires court order and they need to prove that to you and your boss. Some collection agencies will try almost anything to get you to blink. Hold old is this debt anyway?
