We had a plumber put in the drain for our new shower base. He left the drain (PVC) sticking up from the floor about 8 inches. Should we put the shower base down with the PVC sticking up through the drain hole in the base and then cut the PVC to fit? Or should we cut the PVC and then put down the shower base? I can see advantages to both: If we put the shower base down before cutting, then we can't cut it too short. But if we cut after, we may damage the base. This is a large base with a sit in stool so it is not very easy to move so I would like to do this only once. I am confused, can anybody help?
