I use Outlook 2003 Business Contact Manager in my small business to track contacts and sales opportunities. Unfortunately I cannot get it to produce business reports - I keep getting the message :

"The report could not be generated. Please try again"

I have not found anything meaningful on MS Support. Can anyone help - please !

Thanks
Roger

Weird isn't it. I found a reference to this in the blurb on SP1 for BCM. It did not fix the problem. If I find anything I will let you know.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time researching this, apparently even Microsoft doesn't know how to solve it; they claim the Service Pack "fixes" this, but as far as I can tell, it may be what caused it. Have done all the un & re installs I care to do. The only thing I found was a guy who's said it was a .net assembly issue with Crystal Reports, and he describes a fix, which I attempted, but I could not complete the last step. (See After upgrading to BCM v2 cannot produce reports (http://help.lockergnome.com/office/upgrading-BCM-v2-produce-reports-ftopict598026.html))

This worked for me. Just now.

Uninstall outlook 2003 w/bcm update. Reboot
Re-install bcm. Reboot
Download and SAVE outlook 2003 w/bcm update TO DESKTOP, DO NOT RUN!
Install the update from desktop
Still no reports?
Re-run the update from desktop, choose "re-install" (or was it install)
Now you should have reports (and a smoother running Outlook)
Store the .exe somewhere.
Good luck! Let us know if it worked
