On Truth Social Trump "truthed" (I guess that's what they call postings ) saying that if a company invests a $ billion in the US that they will have a path to bypass the regulatory process .

Presumably this means fast tracking impact evaluations like environmental. And that is only one of the flaws in his thinking . For all his talk about shrinking the size and impact of the government ;he is still in the mindset of big corporate workarounds that have contributed to the size and power of the government.
As noted in the posting's title . This allows for rent seeking.
Rent seeking is when an individual or corporation can gain unfair advantage over competitors through manipulation of the political process.
The richest companies will be given the advantage that their smaller competitors do not have. The government essentially creates an unlevel playing field for the favored . It leads to monopoly of an industry.
A much better plan which I assume Trump supports is the dismantling of the regulatory state and streamlining the process down to the level where all can compete while still retaining the power to do what is necessary to ensure safety . That is what DOGE is all about. Seems to me that Trump's plan would if anything add a layer to an already over burdened process. Instead his goal should be speeding up the permitting process for all .
My comments above assume he even has the authority to bypass some pretty specific laws created by Congress (he doesn't ) . We just went through an imperial President who demonstrated time and time again he would not let law interfere with his agenda. We don't need another President cut in that mold.
