Well the Dems can get their panties out of a knot . The Rebub platform is not Project 2025 . Actually Project 2025 is not what the Dems say it is . It is a policy proposal authored by a think tank. Trump says he was not involved in it and is in fact critical of it. Heritage Foundation takes sole ownership of it.

The Repubs did publish a platform for their convention that has Trump's handprints all over it.

We are past the point where growth alone can achieve that . They have made fiscal irresponsibly a plank in their platform. For years they talked a big game about budget reduction and limited government . Now they have decided to ditch the whole idea. Trump is no conservative and he proved it again.

Yes they vaguely promise to reign in wasteful spending while at the same time promising incentives for new home buyers ;and giving a Democrat lite promise to access to health care .
Even if supply side tax cutting (and the platform is full of supply side policies ) were to help ;the debt has grown to a point where that alone will not help . There needs to be budget cutting in addition to things like regulation reduction and drill baby drill.

Digging into the weeds ;it appears that the proposals to make the administrative state and civil service more accountable is what really has the Dems panties in a knot. The proposals to eliminate whole agencies are fanciful and would require acts of Congress .

But the President actually running the executive department should be doable.

The Dems know that roll back reform happens at a snails pace here while progressive agendas get put on the fast tract . So they really don't fear Project 2025 . They are using the issue as a diversion to distract from their own record of failure.

I had a discussion on FB about this very issue. The person contended that since the word "Trump" is mentioned more than 300 times in the 900 page document, then it plainly is a document that is, in fact, about him. When I mentioned that the word "Biden" is likewise mentioned more than 300 times, and yet the person did not contend that document must be about him, it drew a response which we get frequently on this site...silence.

Since Project 2025 comes from a think tank, then maybe we should accept it for what it is, and that is something to think about, a proposal to engender discussion and dialogue. I think there are a number of good proposals in it.
