A week long celebration of the June 6 1944 D Day landing began yesterday . This is the 80th anniversary . It may be the last one where veterans of the landing will be alive to be honored .



At 99 years old, Jack Foy is considered the youngster among his group of friends that fought in World War II.
But their advanced age isn’t going to stop them from making the transatlantic journey to honor their fallen comrades on the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

With the approach of D Day 80 it is time for my generation the baby boomers to apologize to the Greatest Generation because we have not lived up to their high standards . Perhaps that would've been an impossible task . But we have not even tried .

They defeated the totalitarian regimes in Germany and Japan. They saved South Korea from a becoming part of an impoverished communist dictatorship. They built an international order based on freedom . They passed on to us the strongest nation in history with a sound economy. They defeated Soviet Communism . Then they passed the torch to us .

What have we done ? We squandered our inheritance.
The WWII generation handed off to us in 1992 . Since then our leaders have been of the Baby Boomer generation . We have built up a debt that we may never be able to pay. We are $36 trillion in the hole and spend at a rate of $ 1 trillion every 3 months. We don't even seriously speak of reigning in our spending addiction. Half of us think we don't spend enough.

Our military was unchallengeable going into the 1990s . Now it is more associated with chaotic retreats leaving behind a $50 billion arsenal for terrorists and their state patrons to use. The top man of our military went awol and never bothered informing the Commander in Chief or even his 2nd in command (who was taking a beach vacation )
They are under staffed and under supplied.

Not one of our allies can take assurance that we will be there when needed. Take for example Clueless Joe throwing Israel under the bus. He recently lied that a peace plan he was pushing was an Israeli plan .It was not. It came from Hamas.

Our generation has eroded our culture . Institutionalized mass murder of babies ;is trying to institutionalize euthanasia ;is complicit in the mutualization of our children. It is a cultural rot that is eating the nation from the inside.

And to top it off ;we have opened our borders to a horde of invaders. National sovereignty is a foreign concept ripe with racism and xenophobia to us. During Clueless Joe's watch as many people have illegally crossed the border as populate any of the top major cities in the nation.

In the last decade our leaders have turned the justice system into a tool against political opposition. Where the Greatest Generation fought to protect our liberties we are systematically destroying them or eroding them beyond recognition.

Our cities have become something from a dystopian movie. Public safety be damned .You are on your own. If anything the new generation of DAs want to protect the criminal.
Our universities were once the envy of the world . Now they are indoctrination centers.
There is not an institution in the nation safe from it's intended destruction. Justice and Intelligence point their arrows at the people instead of to serve them. There many of us who would like to dismantle the constitution piece by piece.
What bill of rights protections are safe ? Maybe the 3rd amendment prohibition of being forced to house troops hasn't been violated yet.

The saving of the world is the legacy of the Greatest Generation. The Baby Boomers legacy is a post constitutional America.

Is euthanasia institutionalized in all 50 states ? Not yet but it is trending . Oregon, D.C., Hawaii, Washington, Maine, Colorado, New Jersey, California, and Vermont all have what they eufamistically call "assisted suicide " .

Mutualization of children ? About half the states have no restrictions of so called "gender affirming " procedures for minors .

Today is June 5 . 80 years ago the Allied Troops had boarded ships and waited in rough seas to get the go ahead to liberate Europe from Nazi Germany occupation. Allied paratroopers flew across the English channel to begin the campaign .13,400 American paratroopers were part of the largest airborne operation in history. Besides bad weather they were fired on by antiaircraft guns.

In the confusion ,most troops landed far from their intended drop zone and had no idea where they were.

Gliders followed up with landings . But they too encountered problems
Many small battles were fought with units being separated ;some troops fighting with mixed units .

In all 2,499 troops became casualties . This included 15 of 16 battalion commanders of the 82nd Airborne Division.
Despite the obstacles they secured their objectives holding choke points and created confusion for the Germans. They prevented a major counterattack of the beach landing on June 6.

Imagine a President today leading the nation in prayer .

The official version is that he was looking to sit down while everyone else was still standing. Jill covered her mouth telling him he should remain standing . But he could not bring himself back to an upright position.
Later Jill abruptly escorted him off stage leaving Macron to meet and greet the US vets there .

Prior to that he made a speech.He paid lip service about the valor and sacrifice bravery and courage of the vets . But it was in large part about funding Ukraine and WWIII .
