Trump is charged in the Mar a Lago case. I will let that one play out along with the charge that he obstructed an official Congressional act on Jan 6 .
Did Quid Pro Joe obstruct Justice in the Hunter Biden case ?

This letter from Congress suggests they believe he did. KJP a admitted that Quid knew in advance that Hunter was going to defy Congresses subpoena by being no-show at a hearing scheduled . Instead he defiantly held a press conference outside the Senate side of the Capitol. If Quid advised Hunter to this path ;as he likely did , then Quid by law obstructed justice.
Reps Comer and Jordan requested from the White House any documents or communications exchanged by the Executive Office of the President and Hunter Biden and his legal team concerning the deposition of the president’s son.

Hunter is pretty good with stunts. Yesterday he arrived at a House hearing to debate bringing contempt charges against him to the full House of Reps. He sat in the audience and glared . Dems on the committee suggested he should take questions . Repubs were caught with their pants down as usual.
Me ;I would've had the Sergeant at Arms of the House arrest him on the spot and confined him
Best part of the hearing was when he left it.

The House committee voted to move contempt charges to the full House for a vote.

Staying on the stunt game that Hunter is so good at . In the face of the possibility of having a criminal referral from the House ;and seeing the possibility that Trump or any other Repub candidate could defeat his old man Quid Pro Joe ;Hunter is now offering to testify in a closed door session . The caveat is that the House must issue a new subpoena .
The original subpoena was a valid one and there is no need for Congress to issue a new one. He is already in violation of the terms . He is hoping to get a pass on the criminal referral.
Trumpians like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro who defied Congress were convicted and went to jail . But Hunter is of a privileged class . He gets 2nd chances all the time.

If you wanted absolute proof that there is a political purge ;then all you need to know is that the DOJ wants to put Peter Navarro behind bars for 6 months due to his refusing to comply with the Kangaroo Court's subpoena to testify over the January 6 'mostly peaceful' protest at the Capitol. (think Hunter Biden's recent snub of a Congressional subpoena to testify) .
He was also found guilty of not providing documents the sham committee requested .
In his defense ,he invoked executive privilege; having been a senior advisor to the President ,he was entitled to it ;as have others in the past .
The DOJ recommendations for sentencing include 6 month in jail and a $200,000 fine.
Steve Bannon was sentenced to 4 months in jail and a $6,500 fine. His sentence is suspended because Trump pardoned him. But his case is still pending appeal .
Navarro was denied a new trial by the judge. He had argued that the jury was influenced by a mob of protesters outside the court during the trial . The court made it a point to; in Navarro's words , "parade" the jury past protesters that were holding anti-Navarro signs and chanting against him.
The jury returned to court and 20 minutes later delivered their verdict.
The judge asked for video proof of the incident and Navarro's team was not able to produce it. But the court security officer testified that the incident did indeed take place.
Navarro contends that the prosecution emphasized the Jan 6 riot and not his claim of executive privilege.

Who obstructed justice ?
The Dems and the kangaroo court deleted /encrypted 117 files from the record of their investigation into the Jan 6 mostly peaceful protest ,in the days before the Repubs assumed the majority of the House of Reps. The filed have been recovered . Now the Repubs want the passwords.
We already know the extent the Dems went to prevent the public from seeing the videos of the riot that should've automatically been part of the public record. Now we know of their deliberate cover up . I don't know if they violated any laws . But apparently their conduct violated House rules.

Navarro got 4 months for obstruction of Congress . Surely equal justice demands Hunter get 4 months for the same crime ? Nah House Repubs already caved .
