November 11. This was a date that ENDED a war

The last President we have had who was a veteran was over 30 years ago.
Before 1990 more than half of Congress was veterans . Today it is less than 20%

And yet in the 21st century, the US has been in a constant state of war.

All of them have been continuous or have ended badly. Mistakes ignored the war hawks beat the drums ever louder .

Today is Veteran's Day. Most of the vets did not want to fight in wars ;leave parts of themselves in foreign lands ;see their friends die. When we thank them for their service today maybe we should pledge to them that we will not ask them to risk all in needless foreign adventures concocted by national leaders who never served .
