So in response to the slum gym shorts, sneakers and hoodie look of Sen Fetterman ,Schmucky Schumer ;the Senate leader ,revised Senate standards . What ? He cracked down on inappropriate clothing in the Senate ?

Not quite. The Schmuckster directed the Senate’s Sergeant at Arms to stop enforcing the dress code that mandates male senators wear a jacket and tie and female senators a dress or other business wear on the floor

The Senate is just another American institution the Dems are determined to trash .

Yeah. I read that and was disgusted. It's just part of the slumming down of America. We don't appreciate what we have so we don't protect what we have.

It is a lack of respect to the institution.

Susan Collins jokes she will 'wear a bikini' to the Senate while slamming dress code changes. Why not just wear shorts and a t-shirt? It's just sad how the dems are guiding this country down the river. Amazingly, visitors to the Senate chamber will still be subject to the dress code. Kind of reminds me how everyone needed Obamacare except the Congress.

Her comments were first reported by an NBC News reporter, but were confirmed by Fox News Digital. Collins made the comments while slamming the dress code directive (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/senate-will-no-longer-enforce-dress-code-senators), arguing it "debases the institution," which still requires others entering the chamber to comply with the dress code, including coats and ties for men, and business attire for women.

Is it not incredible to think that this guy is a U.S. Senator???

If I dressed like that when working the factory lines I would've been told to leave. I'm sure that attire is prohibited in most schools . There are many restaurants in DC that would not serve someone dressed like that . It is completely unprofessional and Schmucky should demand a higher standard for the institution.

The obvious reason it is now being killed is to accommodate Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), the handicapped stroke victim who wears a hoodie and shorts for preference and claims he finds semiformal wear somehow triggering. The truth, however, is that Fetterman’s garb is a political shtick. A child of wealth and privilege, he adopted his slovenly dress to portray himself as an “everyman” when running for mayor of the tiny town of Braddock. His slovenliness long preceded his stroke. The latter is not a good excuse for the former, and there is no known physical reason he can’t dress appropriately. Indeed, just last weekend, he drove 290 miles to Michigan to express solidarity with striking auto workers.
If Fetterman can drive for five hours (https://www.post-gazette.com/news/politics-nation/2023/09/17/john-fetterman-autoworkers-strike/stories/202309170143), he can manage a necktie, just as truly physically handicapped Sens. Bob Dole and John McCain did for years despite experiencing significant pain just in the daily process of donning their business suits. It is, of course, actually more difficult to pull on a sweatshirt than it is to button up a dress shirt.

Maybe Fetterman's dress is meant to be a meme representing the legislative behavior of the Senate.

What it is in my view is how right the framers were when they designed a government with limited power . Our mistake is that we continue to ignore their warnings

Very true. The modern American views the fed government as a great friend. The founders viewed it as a necessary evil.

Uncle Festerman the statesman from the Senate speaks in support of the UAW

“My message to the, the CEOs, CEOs is, you know, it's $74 million, you know, collectively earning that, you know, how many yachts can they need, you know, to, to yacht, to water, uh, ski behind it, you know, I mean, it's, it's crazy. Students in my last school dress better than this. For that matter, the custodians dressed better than this. There are homeless people who dress better than this.

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., dressed down for an official meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (https://www.foxnews.com/category/world/volodymyr-zelenskyy) at the Capitol, just days after the Senate dress code was altered.
Zelenskyy traveled to Washington, D.C., on Thursday to meet with President Biden and a bipartisan group of lawmakers, a trip that marks his second visit to the U.S.
While every other member of Congress appeared in a suit and tie to welcome Zelenskyy, Fetterman arrived in his usual casual attire (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/resurfaced-interview-shows-fetterman-follow-senate-dress-code-if-elected) — shorts, a short-sleeved shirt and tennis shoes.

If he wore a three-piece suit, no one would take his war reports and comments seriously. He'd look like a mercenary (Wikipedia: a private individual who joins a military conflict for personal profit").

hmmm that would make Quid and the Clintoons mercenaries . 3 piece suit Quid (10% for the big guy) provoked this war ;and the Clintoons will profit from conflict through their phony Clintoon Foundation

And Voldemort Zelensky is also a war profiteer .

"Next week, Senator Manchin intends to file a bipartisan resolution to ensure the Senate dress code remains consistent with previous expectations,"

“The senator in question from Pennsylvania is a personal friend, but I think we need to have standards when it comes to what we’re wearing on the floor of the Senate, and we’re in the process of discussing that right now as to what those standards will be,” (Senator D*ck Durbin)

John Fetterman on the real reason for wearing slum clothing on the floor of the Senate:

"We can all agree: Nobody should take fashion advice from me, But in case you want to, new merch dropping soon."

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “As the grand jury charged, between 2018 and 2022, Senator Menendez and his wife engaged in a corrupt relationship with Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes – three New Jersey businessmen who collectively paid hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes, including cash, gold, a Mercedes Benz, and other things of value – in exchange for Senator Menendez agreeing to use his power and influence to protect and enrich those businessmen and to benefit the Government of Egypt.

It can also be very helpful when you're the one who appointed the attorney general to office.

Did not help Trump appointing Jeff Sessions and to a lesser extend Bill Barr.

In an ironic twist Fetterman was the 1st Dem Senator to call for Menendez to resign

I did not know this . The Scmuckster's relaxation to the Senate dress code ONLY applied to Senators . Staffers are still required to respect the institution .

As for Fetterman; a leading PA news organization hits the nail on the head.

After a few months of forcing himself to wear the conventional suit-and-tie, Mr. Fetterman has backslid to his preferred wardrobe of hooded sweatshirts and athletic shorts. This appears to have been related to his release from inpatient care for clinical depression, and no one can begrudge a person the desire for physical and psychological comfort during and after such a crisis.
Still, Mr. Fetterman’s condition does not relieve him from the duties of public life, one of which is to respect the institutions of public life, and the people whom he represents there.

If a man has an issue with mental illness so severe that it greatly affects the way he dresses, then someone should tell him that he has no business running for the Senate.

Guess Uncle Festerman needs to buy some appropriate cloths to do his job. The Senate unanimously voted for a dress code on the floor that doesn't include hoodies and shorts .
