Clueless Joe thinks so . He said it today in comments related to an EO he is making to get rid of so called hidden costs or what he called 'junk fees ' .

Executive Order on Promoting Competition in the American Economy - The White House (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/07/09/executive-order-on-promoting-competition-in-the-american-economy/)

He said that having to pay for extra legroom on airplanes was unfair on “people of color” and low-income Americans .

There is nothing hidden in the fee for seats with extra leg room. I have paid it many times because I am big. Is it big people discrimination to charges us more because we have long legs ? This fee is up front . The seats involved at at emergency exits and the seats directly behind the first class passenger barrier . I gladly pay that fee as opposed to paying for first class tickets . Was better to shell out some more lettuce to make sure my knees weren't wedged in the seat in front of me ;especially if that fellow traveler had their seat in the recline position (something I have never done to the person behind me)

Of course Clueless flies exclusively on the biggest and most expensive private jet in the world . I'm guessing he has not flown coach in decades .

So what exactly is racist ? The airlines charging more for more legroom ?.......or Clueless assuming people of color are poor ?

And what about the width of seats? Haven't they been narrowed while humans have gotten heavier?

So what exactly is racist ? The airlines charging more for more legroom ?.......or Clueless assuming people of color are poor? It's a narrative that liberal dems keep up because they need minority voters to stay scared and view them as the great savior. Hopefully, they will wake up at some point and see that they are being used. After all, which president had the lowest black unemployment ever recorded???

No doubt . But I am not aware of a fee for wider seats .

I don't recall any so called hidden fees or as he calls them junk fees related to air travel . However I do advise getting flight insurance that covers cancellations ;lost luggage ;hotel deposits etc. It is inexpensive .

Now his complaint against overdraft fees has much more merit .

Now his complaint against overdraft fees has much more merit .From the perspective of racism?

He did not mention racism .He was speaking of "junk fees " .

I have no problem with reasonable penalties for over drafting . There is a cost to the banks they recoup . However , many of them approach usury rates .

This happens to kids frequently who do debit card transactions and were never schooled in high school basic practical math . Sometimes the issue is a days difference in the time it takes to clear a deposit . So their Micky D's burger and fries becomes a $35 dollar meal

I think the overdraft fees issue has merit, but I don't see it as a federal issue.

That is the crux of the issue . Some of his complaints have merit . Some of them like the airplane seats are nonsense. NONE of them merit an EO as a remedy. This is election time pandering .
He says he hopes his action about hidden air travel fees will help people during Thanksgiving travel . It will not .
