It seems to be true that if you let a liberal dem talk long enough, they will say something dumb. It's certainly true with Reid. This is a recent statement.

Host Joy Reid, along with Democratic strategist and frequent MSNBC guest Kurt Bardella, were reacting to the final debate between the two Ohio U.S. Senate candidates, Republican JD Vance and Democrat Tim Ryan.

She picked out a debate moment where Vance says there's a difference between rape exceptions to abortions at 3 weeks and 39 weeks gestation. Reid went off on the Republican, claiming he didn't understand pregnancy or abortion.

"39-week abortions. That is not a thing. Pregnancies normally last 41, 42 weeks. The idea that Republicans keep putting up that somehow women are getting to 39 weeks, which is like three weeks or two weeks maybe even one week before they're having a baby and being like, I think I'm going to have an abortion. It is ridiculous but they keep saying it. They keep saying it because no one stops them or calls them out," she said.
First of all, to quibble over a couple of weeks basically amounts to splitting hairs. But as it turns out, it is Reid who does not know what she's talking about. The average gestation period for women is 40 weeks, so 39 weeks can be a perfectly good number, and especially if you're talking about the time from conception to birth. The range of a "normal" time is 37-42 weeks after the end of the woman's final period, so Ryan is closer to the middle of that range than Reid is. And Ryan's point is perfectly valid. If abortion without restrictions becomes law as it is in Alaska, Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, New York, and the District of Columbia, then an abortion could certainly occur at 39 weeks. It's hard to come up with reliable numbers, but it seems that several thousand late term abortions happen in the U.S. every year, so as I said, Ryan was correct.

And then, of course, there is the added problem of the panel having to exhibit their liberal racist tendency by referring to "white" men not knowing what they're talking about.

Joy would fit right into the View as she is an angry, unintelligent female.
