Yep. The Biden admin has admitted, finally, that the border agents did not whip the immigrants. However, they are still being punished because...well, because. What a pathetic administration this has turned out to be. Thankfully, the border patrol agents have a union which has vowed to fight this idiotic garbage.

The head of Customs and Border Protection (https://www.foxnews.com/category/us/immigration/border-security) (CBP) on Friday said there was "no evidence" that Border Patrol struck Haitian migrants with their reins or used whips in Del Rio, Texas, last year, implicitly rebuking the false claim made by President Biden and other top Democrats — even as the agency recommended punishment for the agents for infractions such as "offensive" language and unnecessary force.

Why anyone would want to become a member of any law enforcement agency in this country is beyond me .It is an absolute no win choice. Staffing of the Border Patrol is no exception . It is at critically low levels and demonizing them by the Administration will not fix it .

I really wonder what the true agenda of the left is. They have to know that reducing the number of policemen is going to lead to some level of chaos. The ones who suffer the most will be the poor. What do they want to gain from that? Perhaps stepping into the "breach" and exerting even more authority than government has now is the plan. That would allow them to shove aside opposition and exert more power. Plausible?

Thank you, Mr. Biden. Note the amount of Fentanyl pouring across our border. Trump's wall would have prevented most of that. I wonder if our pres will accept the responsibility for the thousands of Fentanyl deaths which are resulting from his inept and pathetic mismanagement of our southern border?

Trump had four years to build a wall along the southern border -- a wall that would be climbed over and burrowed under and traveled around. And now we need a wall at our northern border. Canada's opioid problem is moving into our country.

The Akwesasne Mohawk reservation crosses the US Canada border multiple times .There are jurisdictional issues up the kazoo because not only does the tribal area cross over the border at various points ;but it is also right at the border of NY, Quebec and Ontario .The border itself is a poorly drawn line in the middle of the St Lawrence River . The border runs across unmarked and poorly marked roads ;through people's property and sometimes right through people's homes.

Crime syndicates such as the Russian and the Mafia have taken advantage of the jumble for a long time now. This is not recent news . The Mohawks are an independent minded people and recognize US and Canadian sovereignty only as much as they are forced to do so. It is fairly easy for drug runners to hire locals to move product.

Even so the amount of drugs crossing the US Canada border is spit in the ocean compared to what moves across the southern border .

Trump had four years to build a wall along the southern border -- a wall that would be climbed over and burrowed under and traveled around. If we applied that same silly thinking to our homes, we would never lock a door since, after all, the locks can be picked, or the door broken down, or a chair tossed through a window, and on and on it goes. But we recognize those to be very much the exceptions, so we lock our doors and we should finish the southern wall. Trump managed to get over 450 miles in place. Then Biden came in and stopped all construction. Thank you, Mr. Biden.

Everyone knows why the dems are leaving the border wide open. They view the illegals as future dem voters.

As it turns out, not even the Biden admin is foolish enough to completely dismiss a border wall.

But on Thursday, the Biden administration approved a plan to complete a section of the border wall near Yuma, Arizona. The plan includes filling four major gaps in the wall that continue to allow the Yuma area to be one of the busiest corridors for illegal immigration crossings.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas authorized the new plan, which was started by the Trump administration, (https://www.foxnews.com/person/t/donald-j-trump) in an effort to "deploy modern, effective border measures" and improve "safety and security along the Southwest Border," the agency said.Note that the traffic is not going under or over the existing wall. They are pouring through the gaps in wall. A first grader can easily understand this. It's why people go through doors rather than through windows. Path of least resistance.

As far as the biblical verses ;they are meaningless and especially so for people who dispute the contention that this is a 'Christian nation' . The fact is that they have no business in American policy or jurisprudence.

But since (groan) the Bible was brought up;.The Bible assumes a respect and defense of national borders .Many passages details Isreal;s borders

As far as immigration goes ;countries have the right and responsibility to determine who can enter their land and under what circumstances. In Numbers 20, the Israelites asked for permission to pass through the land of Edom. The Edomites refused so the Israelis went another way. In Genesis 12 Abraham traveled into Egypt and was seeking to become a resident there. At one of the border check points he lied about the fact that Sarah was his wife. When the Pharoah found out that Abraham had lied,t Abraham was deported and had to return to Canaan.

So many churches of all denominations had wiillingly, even eagerly, jumped into the effort to provide safe housing, food, education, jobs for the Vietnamese immigrants. Like the Vietnamese, the immigrants at the southern border are not welfare cases in their own countries but are solid citizens with families and meaningful jobs that will benefit our country. Of course, the world/US population, like the immigration population, is much greater than it was in the '70s, so that's part of the problem. In this morning's newspaper: "And those supposedly spoiled Vineyard liberals did a lot more to help the migrants on this occasion than DeSantis did.

Instead of grandstanding, they went to work. They found temporary shelter for their unexpected guests in a local church. They gathered food and supplies. In short, they showed virtue, not just signaling, in response to the unnecessary emergency."

Then, like I posted earlier, add more border checkpoints, temporary housing, food sources in order to gain control over the immigration flood.

How many do we have?
The United States Border Patrol operates 71 traffic checkpoints, including 33 permanent traffic checkpoints, near the Mexico–United States border. The stated primary purpose of these inspection stations is to deter illegal immigration and smuggling activities. (Wikipedia)

The United States’ southern border with Mexico is 1,933 miles long, stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the tip of South Texas.

Now figure out how far apart on average the checkpoints are.

Besides, why would an illegal immigrant be interested in a checkpoint? Their goal is to AVOID checkpoints.

What happened to all of the "bleeding heart, pinko commie libtards" in Chicago, D.C., and MV? For that matter, what has happened with you? None of you have been good "libtards" for these people. It's just the same ole effort to compel others to do what none of you are doing yourselves. The best evidence I have for that, and it is conclusive, is the fact that not a single "libtard" on Martha's Vineyard had one ounce of interest in housing or employing any of those people.

As to Abbott and DeSantis, they have been "volunteered" by people like you to take care of people they never asked for. They have sent a relative handful of them to places that claimed to be in support of them. In support, that is, until they started to arrive. Since that time, their tune has changed. So no, it's not Abbott or DeSantis, but rather the usual "holier than thou" crowd who want to come off looking heroic for basically doing nothing.

The City of Chicago and numerous immigrant-serving nonprofit organizations, such as the Resurrection Project, are coordinating with other agencies to provide migrants with immediate shelter and in-depth case management.

Mayor Lightfoot and other Chicago officials have been greeting the busloads of immigrants, connecting them with shelters and agencies that can help the refugees find homes, jobs, and resources.
Erie Neighborhood House
The nonprofit with locations in West Town, Near West Side and Little Village provides mental health care, adult education and training, legal services and other services for low-income and immigrant families.
“Erie and other community organizations have been doing this kind of work for years,” said Isaias Solis, the group’s senior director of programs. “Every time we have migrants that arrive — whether it be from Latin America, Central America, most recently Ukraine and Afghanistan — we’ve been providing a lot of support.”
Anyone interested in volunteering with or donating to Erie can go to its website (https://eriehouse.org/) or call 312-563-5800. The organization works with hundreds of volunteers every year, Solis said.
“We love that the city of Chicago is a welcoming city, a sanctuary city,” Solis said. “We’re here to help. We’re here to support. Our doors are open. And we want to make sure that we’re part of the solution.”
CommunityHealth
CommunityHealth is one of the largest volunteer-based health centers in the United States, offering free services to low-income, uninsured Chicagoans, which is primarily an immigrant population, external affairs director Laura Ciresi Starr said.
The group has been in close contact with the Mayor’s Office and other local groups to help the migrants, and many staff members and volunteers are bilingual, Starr said. Migrants are welcome whether they are only stopping in Chicago for a short period or if they plan to stay long-term, Starr said.
“We really strongly believe that everybody should have access to essential health care at no cost if they need it,” Starr said. “We want to make sure they know we are available to be a welcoming place. That we can be their doctor’s office, their yoga studio, their pharmacy — all of these things all in one place.”
CommunityHealth has three clinics: 2611 W. Chicago Ave., 5413 W. Diversey Ave. and 2759 S. Harding Ave.
Anyone interested in learning more or becoming a volunteer can find more information in English, Spanish and Polish on the CommunityHealth website (https://communityhealth.org/). CommunityHealth has a huge volunteer base that provides many of the organization’s services, with roles for medical providers, interpreters, health educators and more, Starr said.
Southwest Collective
The Southwest Collective (https://www.swcollective.org/) is a group of neighbors and activists who have organized food giveaways and other services for residents in need throughout the pandemic. The group also offers an open forum for Southwest Side residents to voice their concerns, and it launches economic, educational and recreational initiatives to bring the community together.
Board member and volunteer Adriana Vargas said the group can help the migrants through its food equity initiatives and monthly Freebies for Families events, at which parents can pick up or drop off gently used baby and children’s items.

Eventually, the immigrants will be settling in not only Chicago but also the suburbs, where churches and various social service agencies and county health departments will be surround them with aid and opportunities. Real estate data and Massachusetts state resources (https://www.foxnews.com/category/us/us-regions/northeast/massachusetts) show otherwise. Island towns are flush with cash and plenty of extra beds to help needy people. Edgartown, for example, boasts $9.8 million in free cash — budget surplus — according to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. It would have cost only $9.1 million to give all 50 migrants their own room for an entire year at Edgartown’s swanky $500-per-night Harbor View Hotel.

Both legal and illegal immigrants don't know where checkpoints are, don't always follow roads -- or avoid them for various reasons. (Mexico has built roads to each checkpoint?!)

The currents checkpoints are far enough apart that it would be easy to bypass/avoid them. Perhaps drones can be sent between checkpoints to assess how many immigrants are deliberately or unknowingly bypassing the checkpoints. Is there U.S. communication between checkpoints? As for how many highways that cross the border that don't have a checkpoint? Probably none. But the border can be crossed without going on a highway.

Apparently, according to Wikipedia: Checkpoints are located between 25 and 75 miles (40 and 121 km) of the Mexico–United States border along major U.S. highways (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highways); near the southern border of the contiguous United States (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contiguous_United_States). Their situation at interior locations allow them to deter illegal activities that may have bypassed official border crossings along the frontier.

jlisenbe
Sep 19, 2022, 09:43 AM
So if indeed there are currently no highways crossing the border that don't already have a checkpoint, there where would you put the new ones? Would you just build them basically in the middle of nowhere? And even if we did, do you really think that illegal aliens would be sure to locate one of those checkpoints so that they would be stopped and turned back?

Wondergirl
Sep 19, 2022, 10:17 AM
I mentioned drones and also communication between border crossing stations and checkpoints.

To repeat -- These checkpoints are located ... along major U.S. highways [north of] the southern border of the contiguous United States. Their situation at interior [U.S.] locations allow them to deter illegal activities that may have bypassed official border crossings along the frontier.

Thus, I'd add more border crossings because it's "in the middle of nowhere" where both legal and illegal immigrants cross into the U.S. It wouldn't totally solve the problem but would definitely improve things.

jlisenbe
Sep 19, 2022, 10:49 AM

The checkpoints are on American soil, usually in civilized areas. Actually, I originally misspoke and should have said "border stations", not checkpoints. Each has its own function.

We need more border stations along the southern border with good communication between stations plus drones flying back and forth to record and report human activity.

check points are not relevant . As has been mentioned ;the illegals are not looking for check points to cross . The illegals are looking to avoid them. What they should have before approaching the border is proper visas that say they are permitted to cross the border .

Border stations is semantics for border check points . They are at points of entry to inspect travelers and goods to prevent unauthorized goods and people from entering the country .

Wondergirl
Sep 19, 2022, 01:24 PM
The checkpoints are on the U.S. side, so immigrants who stop at them are already in this country and are responsibly seeking the legal way to become citizens. There are also border stations that are *cough* on the border.

Again, paraphrasing Wikipedia: Checkpoints are located between 25 and 75 miles [north] of the Mexico–United States border along major U.S. highways. Their interior locations allow them to deter illegal activities that may have bypassed official border crossings along the frontier.

A letter to the editor in this morning's Chicago Tribune --

Immigrants used as fodder

What a sad commentary on the state of our political and social ethics that the governors of Florida, Texas and Arizona feel empowered to literally deposit hundreds of traumatized fellow human beings on the doorsteps of communities in other jurisdictions with apparently no warning or provision for their care in place.

Without a doubt, the issue of the orderly regulation of migration into our country by people whose only desire is to live in a free society with prospects of bettering their lives is an important one. It is not solved, however, by the “gotcha” mentality exhibited by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Using travel-weary, confused and easily manipulated men, women and children as human fodder to make a political statement is beyond despicable.

It was not long ago that significant immigration reform was on the congressional agenda with bipartisan support. Those days are now a distant memory.

Perhaps this latest display of mean spirit will lead some of our leaders back to considering real solutions and eschewing such sophomoric stunts.

Migrants Get the Last Laugh After Being Bused to D.C. (NYT, 09/19/22)

[Earlier immigrants who were bused to D.C. are calling] the free transportation a blessing. They are already employed and achieving some measure of stability. They have found jobs in construction, hospitality, retail, trucking and other sectors facing worker shortages in an economy still recovering from the impact of the pandemic.

The issue is the fact that we have no control at all of our own southern border. These people are crossing illegally and thus are law-breakers.
Not all of them. What percentage are lawbreakers? And, do they know they need permission to enter another country? If you're from rural Venezuela, would you know?

Try flying into those countries without a passport and see what happens.

You have not denied that? Oh yes, you did. Post 78. I had said, "Many cross for the purpose of sex-trafficking, gang transactions, or drug trafficking. Happy with that???" You replied, "You are so wrong! Please do some honest research!" Note the exclamation marks, added for emphasis!!

Why is there no Dem outrage over the number of illegals who die at the border ?

DeSantis made an important point :

"Immigrants have been more than willing to leave Bexar County after being abandoned, homeless, and 'left to fend for themselves.' (by the administration)

Florida gave them an opportunity to seek greener pastures in a sanctuary jurisdiction that offered greater resources for them, as we expected. Unless the MA national guard has abandoned these individuals, they have been provided accommodations, sustenance, clothing and more options to succeed following their unfair enticement into the United States, unlike the 53 immigrants who died in a truck found abandoned in Bexar County this June."

He mentions that Texas county because the Sheriff there is trying to make a name for himself by accusing DeSantis and Abbott of human trafficking .

The truth is that the Clueless Administration is complicit with cartels of being probably the largest human trafficking operation in the world .

So what is worse ;50 illegals being shipped to an alleged sanctuary region ;or 50 humans suffocating in a truck at the border ?

Clueless policies have prompted the largest number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border in history, many of whom are under the control of human traffickers, child smugglers, and cartels

We need these illegal immigrants to come in here and pick our crops. Or so say Ms. Pelosi.

Responding to a question about the topic during the press conference, Pelosi began by admitting that there needs to be both border security and openness to migrants. She said, "The fact is, is that, uh, we have a responsibility to secure our border. We also have a responsibility to recognize the importance of newcomers to our nation. Right now the best thing we can do for our economy is have comprehensive immigration reform."
She then added, "We have a shortage of workers in our country, and you see even in Florida some of the farmers and the growers saying, ‘Why are you shipping these immigrants up north? We need them to pick the crops down here.’"

She has had a Dem majority in the House since 2006 more or less . At any time she could've taken the necessary steps to secure the border .

Her message really is that they need illegal aliens to replace the antebellum slaves and to bring new voters in ;dependent on the Dem's largess and compassion.

But she can't speak of that in so many words . So she says Florida agriculture needs cheap labor citrus pickers . Much better . She get's a dig at DeSantis for moving the illegals to the Dem "sanctuary" cities and states .

The Dems really fear DeSantis . Give them a day or 2 to start attacking him for hurricane response . It worked for them in 2006 . It worked for them in 2012 .

I can predict now that the Dems will start a campaign to install drop off mail boxes and permit unprecedented levels of ballot harvesting in Fla.; and maybe SC and NC .

The continuous disregard for the truth by the Biden admin has become tiresome.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was told that the photographer who captured a clash between Border Patrol agents and Haitian migrants in Del Rio had said that the incident was being misconstrued -- hours before Mayorkas joined a White House press conference where he didn’t challenge the false narrative.
The Sept. 24, 2021 email, obtained by the Heritage Foundation via a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA), shines light onto internal deliberations surrounding the controversy in Del Rio, Texas, where Democrats and the White House pushed a narrative that migrants had been "whipped" or "strapped" by Border Patrol agents despite it being quickly debunked.
In fact, agents were using split reins to control their houses as migrants rushed across the river. But a narrative, based on a misinterpretation of photographs, was running and on Sept. 24 was further fueled by President Biden.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mayorkas-alerted-haitian-migrants-whipped-hours-wh-press-conference

Biden's response was the typical anti-law enforcement narrative we have come to expect from democrats. "To see people treated like they did, horses barely running over, people being strapped — it's outrageous. I promise you, those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now, and there will be consequences. There will be consequences."

There were consequences alright, in spite of the fact that it soon became obvious that Biden had no idea of what he was talking about, and that the investigation would show the that no one was whipped or run over. How much longer must we endure this person???

update .

Poland began construction of a razor wire wall across it's entire border with the Russian exclave Kaliningrad ;about 130 miles . This is in response to the Russian regional airport ,Khrabrovo Airport, that will begin to accept flights from the Middle East.
The concern is that Russia will direct "asylum seekers " aka llegal immigrants to the Polish border for entry ino the EU.

The razor wire is temporary . A more permanent wall will be built similar to the one Poland has with Russia's puppet colony state Belarus. Poland was swarmed with so called asylum seekers from Belarus .In that case Belarus was forcing them to cross the border .Poland in turn was forcing them back to Belarus . The wall is an 18 feet steel wall with electronic monitors .

Poland is the last of the EU countries to erect a barrier with it's Russian border .Finland, Estonia, and Latvia are all constructing fencing along their Russian borders; with some stretches already complete.

DHS data for the end of the fiscal year are out . It don't look good .

CBP Enforcement Statistics Fiscal Year 2022 | U.S. Customs and Border Protection (https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-enforcement-statistics)

Clueless Joe's administration shattered a US record by apprehending nearly 2.4 million illegal aliens along the Mexican border(227,547 illegals in September alone).

Border Patrol agents arrested hundreds of gang members—mostly from Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13). 751 gang members compared to 348 in 2021. 312 of those belong to the MS-13. More than 145 members of Paisas, a prison gang from Mexico, were also apprehended.... 146 from the 18th Street LA gang.

98 people on the national terrorist watchlist were arrested ;compared to 16 in 2021 . This is a growing trend . A man from Bangladesh was running a human smuggling operation on the Mexican border with Guatemala ,and was sentenced last year .

Man Sentenced for Role in International Human Smuggling Conspiracy | OPA | Department of Justice (https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/man-sentenced-role-international-human-smuggling-conspiracy)

This reflects a growing demographic of illegal aliens from terrorist nations entering the U.S. through Mexico. The government classifies them as Special Interest Aliens (SIA) .Tens of thousands of SIAs entered Panama and Colombia in recent years mostly from Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Bangladesh, and India.

One can only imagine how many of the list above escaped capture and infiltrated into the US.

The Del Rio sector in Texas saw the most traffic with 480,930 illegals , an increase of 85% over 2021. The Rio Grande Valley sector ,468,124 encounters...Yuma in Arizona (310,094), El Paso (307,884) and Tucson (251,984).

Our shelter system is full, and we are nearly out of money, staff, and space. Truth be told, if corrective measures are not taken soon, we may very well be forced to cut or curtail programs New Yorkers rely on

“We’ve asked both the state and federal government for funding, for space to house asylum seekers, for staff, for workforce authorizations and, most importantly, a long-term strategy to ensure asylum seekers are sent to other cities,” he said. “Our requests for assistance have been mostly ignored.”

The Biden crime family is famous for influence peddling, trading off the family name for big $$$ through no show jobs, board seats, painting sales (and industry typically used as a money laundering tool) , etc.

Remember when the Dems claimed that Trump was in violation of the Emolument Clause ? Well Quid bypasses it by having his family act as surrogates while invoking the Biden name in their business transactions .

Sniffing a daughter's hair is one thing . But creepy Joe has an unhealthy obsession to sniffing other girls hair .
Sorry to backtrack. Smelling a kid's hair can tell an adult a lot about where they've been and what they've been doing. Does their hair smell like cigarette smoke or pot or vape smoke or a brushfire? (maybe Granddaughter Ashley and her friends changed clothes but didn't think to wash their hair)

To those who downplay that ; 2 people were arrested because they found it after Ashley left it behind from a rehab stint . They tried to sell it .In addition the FBI made goon squad raids of offices of Project Veritas to retrieve the content . They also raided the home of Veritas founder James OKeefe . There was a time that such an attack on the free press would've been abhorrent to the left . But now the press embraces it's role as the compliant press.

This is just beyond belief,” said University of Minnesota law professor Jane Kirtley, a former executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. “I’m not a big fan of Project Veritas, but this is just over the top. I hope they get a serious reprimand from the court because I think this is just wrong.”

Clueless is getting into campaign mode. You know this by his sudden interest in the border crisis he created by inviting an invasion of the southern border . He will FINALLY go to the border at El Paso Sunday. Then he is off to Mexico to visit airports with Mexico jefe Lopez Obrador (aka AMLO).

He is flying into a new airport at the remote edge of Mexico City so he can help Obrador promote the airport after he came under domestic criticism for the project. The new airport is about 30 miles north of Mexico City’s National Palace, where a summit of North American leaders will take place, and traffic can cause the drive to take more than an hour. Oh well a longer and more potentially dangerous motorcade ride is a homage that is a small price to pay . Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will also land at the remote airport . In return AMLO had El Chapo's son arrested .

While a horde of hundreds of thousands (millions ) illegals cross the border ....Clueless has a new get tough plan . He will accept 30,000 migrants a month from Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti and Venezuela and give them work visas . He says he will expel the rest .
“Do not, do not just show up at the border,”
“Stay where you are and apply legally from there,”

Biden urges migrants not to 'just show up at the border' to immigrate to the U.S. (yahoo.com) (https://news.yahoo.com/biden-urges-migrants-not-just-193038120.html)

"Starting today, if you don't apply through the legal process, you will not be eligible for this new parole program. Let me reiterate, you need a lawful sponsor in the United States of America, number one, and you need to undergo a rigorous background check. Number two, if your application is approved and you show up at a US airport, or when and where directed-- excuse me-- you have access. But if your applications is denied, or you attempt to cross into the United States unlawfully, you will not be allowed to enter."

Of course he claimed that the catastrophe at the border was all Repub fault because they block plans of blanket amnesty under the guise of 'comprehensive reform' . The truth is that until yesterday's announcement he put zero political effort into controlling the border . On the contrary; his stated plan to have illegals "surge " the border was only blocked by SCOTUS . But since he has put no effort into enforcement it hardly matters what the law says.
If he were serious about reaching consensus he would not have started his comments with the typical blame game .

We've been down this road before . comprehsive reform means blanket amnesty with a promise of border enforcement at some date in the future. Typical Dem 1st create a crisis ;blame the Repubs for the crisis ;promise to fix the crisis they create .

“Do not, do not just show up at the border,”
“Stay where you are and apply legally from there,”This is what now passes by Biden "getting tough". I'm sure they will all supervise their illegal crossings to make sure they don't exceed the 30,000 figure.

When Biden expels the first one, be sure to let us know.

14 months ago ;when talking about the border , Clueless Joe said

“I’ve been there before. I mean, I know it well,” ......“I guess I should go down but the whole point of it is, I haven’t had a whole hell of a lot of time to get down.”

He found the time yesterday so now he can take it off of his bucket list. But the truth is that no one had a record of him ever visiting the border before yesterday. .

Peppermint Patty Psaki had made a lame comment with a straight face that he drove by the border in 2008 on the campaign trail.

White House says Biden drove by the border in 2008 | CNN Politics (https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/22/politics/border-joe-biden-jen-psaki/index.html)

Of course he only did this because 1). He is getting into campaign mode for 2024 2). Dem leaders like NYC Mayor Eric Adams and Cal Guv Gavin Newsom have begged the administration to act.
A horde of more than 5 million illegal alien invaders infiltrated under his watch before he decided to act.
Then he has the cojones to blame Repubs for the crisis . He called on Repubs to work with Dems to pass "comprehensive reform" ....aka amnesty .

It's easy to correct
1) end catch and release
2) reinstate the Trump policy of remain in Mexico for processing
3 )complete the wall.
4) expel any illegal caught

I can add for 4 ) he is actually going to do this one....or so he says ..... expel Cuban, Nicaraguan and Haitian illegals . now about the rest .

To sum up his border policy. blame shift ; grandstand with photo-ops ;pontificate

Row is a hotel on 8th Avenue in mid-town Manhattan close to many of NYC attractions. Currently it is also being used as a temporary housing for illegal aliens. Workers at the hotel are saying that daily they are throwing out large bags of free prepared food .They say that the illegals drink alcohol and smoke pot all day long;along with other drugs They tell of domestic violence among the illegals and of people having sex on the stairwells. Trash is left all over the place and fights break out between illegals and security personnel.

NYC is paying$400-$500 a night to house them ,

So that’s costing New York City an estimated $1 million-$1.37 million a day. That’s $365 million-$500 million a year.....While not revealing specifics, Adams has requested $1 billion from the feds.

Mucha nieve !;mucho frio ! They aren't saying mucho oso yet . But that is coming .

So much for that idea .Many of the illegals that Mayor Adams sent to Canada are returning to NYC .Ilze Thielmann, the director of non-profit Team TLC said ;
"They think that there are all these jobs up there. They think they’re going to be able to get asylum very easily up there and that’s just not the case" .

Why some migrants turn around and head back to NYC after free bus ride to near Canadian border | CBC News (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/migrants-new-york-city-canada-roxham-1.6740282)

The grass is always greener on the other side of the border .

The buses from NYC loaded with illegals goes to the Roxham Rd. It is a 5 mile rural road that starts in Champlain, New York and ends in Bogton, in the municipality of Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Quebec, Canada. They walk the distance and cross the Canadian border illegally . This is a mini-version of the human trafficking that the Mexican cartels do . But in this case it is state sanctioned . Last year about 40,000 illegals crossed into Canada this way.

Adams says that all he is doing is 'helping in the re-ticketing process'

Update

for those paying attention Title 42 ends in 2 days.

We are days away from a massive invasion of our southern border . We have completely lost control of our border .The cartels control both sides of it . They are telling the invaders that with the end of Title 42 covid restrictions the US is now an open border nation and that the US will provide for their every need once they cross over. Hordes of invaders are waiting to sack America.

Clueless Joe ordered 1500 troops to the border. That is clearly not enough . But not only that . They will not be involved in stopping the invasion . They will be there to assist in the process of making the invaders legal .

Slavery was made illegal in the US in 1865 ? WRONG

The new euphemism for it is 'Human Trafficking and the slave trade is alive and flourishing in the US . Child illegal immigrants are smuggled across the border and they are willingly transferred to people who put them into labor and sex slave status .

The compliant press shills for the administration Here is Time take

There’s very little a homeland security secretary or an American President can do to reverse human migration patterns predominantly caused by climate change, new storm patterns, rampant violence and economic need. U.S. immigration laws, which could create orderly entry points for migrants to register and work and live in the U.S., are poorly designed to do so, and haven’t been updated in three decades.

Lie after lie after lie. Those may be minor factors but the real problem is Clueless Joe and his homeland security secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas.

Dem Rep. Sharice Davids of Kansas wrote to Mayorkas.

You have had a year to engage prior to the lifting of Title 42, and I hope that you and the President both recommit to working with Congress to achieve real results,” Davids continued.

In March 2022, the Biden Administration warned of increased migration flows immediately following the end of Title 42, but in the last year, the Administration has taken no action to find a comprehensive, bipartisan solution. Now, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is preparing for as many as 10,000 migrants to cross the southern border each day after the order ends, which would almost double the daily average from this past March.

Davids Pushes Biden Administration to Recommit to Bipartisan Immigration Reform | Representative Sharice Davids (house.gov) (https://davids.house.gov/media/press-releases/davids-pushes-biden-administration-recommit-bipartisan-immigration-reform)

I don't know why the administration has not acted . Polls show it as a negative for the President . The only conclusion I can draw is that he wants this invasion to happen.

The invasion that is coming today is the beginning of the fulfilment of George Soros' open borders dream. He has dedicated 3 decades and billions of dollars to this effort .

He believes that there is the need to end America as the world's preeminent power. He has been coveting the day when a weakened United States can be at the mercy of international institutions.
He sees himself as a global citizen . He has called national soverignty anachonistic.

America in the Global Community: Building Long-Term Security (state.gov) (https://2001-2009.state.gov/s/p/of/proc/24381.htm)

"the principle of sovereignty stands in the way of outside intervention in the internal affairs of nation-states."

The People’s Sovereignty – Foreign Policy (https://foreignpolicy.com/2009/10/28/the-peoples-sovereignty/)

We are well on the way. Common customs ,language ,traditions are essential to national unity . The hordes of illegals do not share our traditions beliefs and in many cases are not coming to adopt them .Democracy, freedom of speech , religion, and individual rights are rejected, forbidden, and severely punished in many of the cultures of the people in the wave. Many are brining in disease long eradicated in the US . How far have we come from the days when there were immigration bans on criminals, people with contagious diseases, polygamists, anarchists, beggars, and importers of prostitutes.....or even the 1965 liberal reforms designed for the acceptance of immigrants for family unification and for skilled workers .

How U.S. immigration laws and rules have changed through history | Pew Research Center (https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2015/09/30/how-u-s-immigration-laws-and-rules-have-changed-through-history/)

6 million illegals in 1986 was a crisis. We got over 2.7 million illegal border crossers last year alone. And that during Title 42 restrictions .

Say goodby USA . It was nice to know ya.

Tuesday the Chief Executive in charge of the safety of the nation said of the end of Title 42 that the border would be "chaotic" for a while.

So how are the laws being enforced now that the covid restriction ended ?

The head of border security Sec Mayorkas told the invaders massing on the border for the bum rush ; don't believe your lying eyes; the border is not open .

Mayorkas marks end of Title 42 with a warning for migrants: ‘The border is not open’ | The Hill (https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/4001107-mayorkas-marks-end-of-title-42-with-a-warning-for-migrants-the-border-is-not-open/)

But the invasion preceded the end of the restrictions .

Illegal border crossings have topped 10,000 per day this week, the highest levels ever, as the Title 42 border policy expired at 11:59 p.m. Thursday. Thousands of migrants forded the Rio Grande into the Brownsville, Tex., area, or arrived elsewhere, including more than 800 miles away on the dusty strip of U.S. land between the riverbanks and the border wall east of downtown El Paso.

So now you are going to offer whole sections of states to illegal invaders . Who's property you going to steal ?.Where is the vital resources like water going to come from ? The High Plains and Ogallala aquifer are already dangerously low. The region cannot sustain large populations .

The progressive libs running the sanctuary cities have the same chorus every time someone suggests that they should help absorb the illegal hordes. "We need help with more Washington "resources " ( a euphemism for money )

tomder55
May 12, 2023, 02:05 PM
There is a legal process that needs a leader to enforce it .

The US has been historically the most open country on the planet and would continue to be if the laws of the land were enforced. 10,000 a day will overwhelm the American's people's means to absorb them . Already we know the hypocrite rich Dems on Martha's Vineyard evicted all the illegals that were sent there from
Texas in less than a day after they arrived .

It is not about immigration . This is the Dems continuing to execute the Cloward -Piven strategy to destroy the nation. They proposed taking advantage of the spirit of American generosity to crash our economy. The idea was to create a never ending demand for social services until the money ran out and a new Marxist system of government that would “equitably” distribute the nations’ wealth would be implemented .

Why are they coming ? For the promise of free stuff .

One of the biggest reasons for the increase in migration is the number of failed and authoritarian states in the Western Hemisphere. Struggling economies worsened by the coronavirus pandemic, humanitarian crises and political upheaval have sent people fleeing their homes for a safer and more stable life in the United States.

For many migrants, including those from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela, the situation is so desperate that the risk of making the dangerous journey and potentially being turned away by U.S. officials is preferable to continuing to live in dire conditions.

“Failing states across the Western Hemisphere is the disease,” said Jason Houser, a former top immigration official in the Biden administration. “The flow of migrants to the border, overwhelming our agencies, is the symptom.”

I don't think they would make the trip in most cases if they need the door was not open to just anyone who just decided he/she needed to walk across the border and get a job, start a life, have a baby with guaranteed citizenship, sell illegal drugs, steal the property of others, or traffic human beings for sex. That is why whatever the motive is, the process must be still be done legally. And that is especially true considering that fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for young adults.

If they invited me, then I would LEGALLY go. I would not, however, force open their front doors. And I don't even know why we are discussing this. When a nation refuses to police and control entry, then it's hard to know how to react to that. Why don't we just open the airways while we're at it? Passport?? Not needed to enter the U.S.!!

Mayor Adams of NYC has made it clear that the illegal border crossing hordes are not welcome in his city . He is putting them on busses and shipping them upstate.

First buses of asylum seekers arrive in Orange County, as NYC says it's out of options - CBS New York (cbsnews.com) (https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/1st-bus-of-asylum-seekers-arrives-in-orange-county-as-nyc-says-its-out-of-options/)

The first busload went to Newburg ; a city with plenty of problems of it's own.

Look At Some of Newburgh, New York's Roughest Streets (wrrv.com) (https://wrrv.com/look-at-some-of-newburgh-new-yorks-roughest-streets/)

More than 25% of the people in the city live below the poverty rate.

Homeless vets are being evicted from the hotels they have been housed in to make way for the invaders.

Homeless veterans booted from upstate hotel to make room for migrants arriving after Title 42 ended (nytodaynew.com) (https://nytodaynew.com/homeless-veterans-booted-from-upstate-hotel-to-make-room-for-migrants-arriving-after-title-42-ended/)

County Executives upstate are declaring an emergency.

Adams has resorted to name calling the Rockland County Exec a racist for his opposition. Disclaimer ;I lived in Rockland most of my adult life before relocating after retirement . The county is one of the most diverse counties in the nation. (ranked 3rd in NY after NYC counties )

Most Diverse Counties in New York | Stacker (https://stacker.com/new-york/most-diverse-counties-new-york)

Even among the white population is a large sub-group of Orthodox and Hasidic Jews . Rockland has the highest per capita Jewish population in the nation. In the neighborhoods I lived Whites ;Jews ,Hispanics ,Blacks ,Haitian immigrants all lived side by side.
There is no way the county would tolerate a racist Exec.

Currently a judge issued a restraining order preventing Adams from sending the illegals to Rockland . Adams said Thursday the city would not be deterred by legal challenges. That about says it all about Adams .

If I didn't know better, I'd say we are watching a soap opera. How can democrats continue to defend this insanity? I have said many times that I am no fan of Trump, but his idea to build a wall along at least MOST of the border was a great one. It's the only solution.

People entering illegally are entering in areas where there is no wall. Hmmm. What does that tell us? To suggest that walls are useless is simply childish.

Walls don't stop illegal immigration, but they do slow it down greatly to a manageable point unlike the craziness of the actions of the Biden admin.

1. How do you know that "every wall built so far has been scaled or burrowed under"?
2. If they travel "to the other end", then that means the wall needs to be lengthened.
3. The masses will not press against a wall. Show me pics of that happening.
4. Since you seem not to have read this the first time, I'll post it again. "Walls don't stop illegal immigration, but they do slow it down greatly to a manageable point."

People put fences and walls around their houses. It doesn't make a burglary impossible, but it makes it much more unlikely. Nothing is 100% reliable. To suggest we not use these ideas because they are not 100% effective is, I'm sorry to say again, childish. I think you realize that is true. I'm not questioning your intelligence. I'm actually suggesting you put your considerable intelligence to better use.

Please read your history book. Even the Berlin Wall and Great Wall of China have been scaled.

Into the ocean.

Photos are in my morning newspaper every day.

As rhe masses grow on the Mexico side and press harder and harder against each other and the wall.

I'm in Mensa. Don't mess with me. And stop double-dipping.

If all that is true, why didn't Trump finish the wall?

Your argument basically goes like this. We shouldn't put locking vaults in banks since, after all, thieves manage to defeat the locks and enter the vaults from time to time. Since they are not 100% reliable, then we should just store the money on top of cabinets. The two arguments (yours about the wall and that one about vaults) equally make no sense. To appeal to the Great Wall of China and the Berlin Wall is kind of bizarre on your part since both were great successes for their intended purposes. If a "Great Southern Wall" for us would work as well as those two, our illegal immigration problems would be over.

The masses on the Mexican side are not pressing against the wall. If you had any pics of that, you would post them. To suggest that they would gather en masse and just push the wall over also makes no sense at all.

Trump did not complete all the wall because the Acme Border Wall Company did not just happen to have 1500 miles of wall already in stock and ready to install. [SARC] It takes time to do a project that large, and he only had two years to do it. How much did Biden install? For that matter, how does Biden seem to be doing?

We need more immigration offices and employees plus social workers and counselors at the southern border, which means more housing, eateries, bathrooms. As I posted earlier, too many Western Hemisphere countries aren't fit to live in right now. That's why people have left them, in hopes of finding a better life in the U.S. (and Canada?). We need a plan to help the immigrants to blend in with us, just as we did the Vietnamese after the Tet Offensive. (And yes, I helped with that in my town.) Trouble is, covid has turned life upside down. Social life has drastically changed. Social isolation (now that we've lost our rudders, we socialize mostly digitally) is predominant. Week magazine this week has an interesting article about that.

A few thousand a year MIGHT be able to tunnel under/climb over a border wall, so let's instead choose to just open it up to HUNDREDS of thousands coming across.

Make sense???

We have lost "operational control " on both sides of the border . The US border is in the control of the cartels . The law enforcement as it is functions as a welcome committee to the hordes of invaders.

Here’s how the government can improve processing immigrants

BY SHELDON JACOBSON
Title 42 was implemented as a public health measure during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the health emergency ending, the rule has now expired. This means that those coming to the borders seeking asylum may no longer be turned away. What the federal government did and what it should have done are two different things.

Title 42 delayed the need for Congress to tackle long overdue immigration reform. That delay no longer applies, with borders to Mexico in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas ripe for large influxes of people seeking entry and asylum.

As much as many Americans are dissatisfied with the current political, social and economic affairs in our nation, the interest in people entering our country and becoming permanent residents is enormous. The United States continues to offer opportunities for success, provided one is willing to work hard and put in the time, which most immigrants are prepared to do. That is why every day, more than 4,000 people on average immigrated to the United States in 2021, with more than one-half coming from Mexico.

Numerous industries rely on immigrants to fill their workforces and cover a wide range of job skills.

Setting immigration policies is challenging. Anytime there are multiple stakeholders with divergent interests, there is no path forward to satisfy everyone. At one extreme are those who want to protect the borders against immigrants who allegedly will take jobs away from citizens and use public resources. At the other extreme are those who want to offer all those oppressed and under attack in other countries the opportunity to find success in the U.S. and a path to citizenship.

Independent of what policy is instituted, the short-term challenge is processing thousands of people each week to determine their eligibility for entering the U.S. and gaining permanent residency.

Lessons learned from airport security can be applied to vetting people at border crossings:
Transparency and standardization: No matter what immigration policy is used, it is critical that the people being vetted have appropriate documentation to establish where they are coming from and what their current citizenship is. Without such information, it is impossible to implement any policy in a fair and equitable manner.

Providing standardized requirements for every possible immigrant long before they ever get to the border is critical. Without widespread communication campaigns throughout Latin America, immigration officers are handcuffed in doing their jobs. This would be like Transportation Security Administration officers not being able to protect the air system if they are focused on sorting through the identity verification materials presented by every traveler and assessing which will be accepted.

Layered processing: Create multiple layers to vet immigrants, with each layer providing independent information to facilitate processing. An online system is a step to facilitate this. The key is consistency, which means that if people show up without having registered, authorities could provide computer network facilities for them to register, all in their language of choice, with ample assistance available. Only those registered should be processed. Once rules are broken and standardization is compromised, it becomes impossible to maintain order at the borders.

This is why TSA officers at airports are interchangeable at any commercial airport across the United States. They follow a standardized process that travelers know will be followed, no matter which airport they are flying out of.

Foster trust: Once standardized procedures are in place, demonstrate to all immigrants seeking asylum that they are in the system and under consideration. Using simple queuing theory results, such as Little’s law, will provide a reasonable estimate for how long each immigrant’s application will take to be processed. At the same time, immigration officers must be deployed based on anticipated arrival rates for applicants. Once the system is viewed as broken and untrustworthy, people panic and begin to ignore system protocols, creating chaos that benefits no one.

Immigration reform is critical to ensure that the people who enter the country are given the best opportunity to succeed. Creating a transparent and standardized system, with multiple layers that can be trusted, is critical to processing the thousands of people seeking asylum in the country. If the TSA can screen 2 million passengers every day, perhaps immigration officers can be equally effective with the thousands applying for entry and asylum in a post-Title 42 environment.

They're working at fast-food places in Chicago and suburbs. In hospitals too and nursing homes. I connected with two immigrant women who worked as custodians at a healthcare rehab I was at recently. They giggled as they taught me some Spanish.
