View Full Version : Official Attendance Tally At Trump Tulsa Rally

Athos
Jun 21, 2020, 12:37 PM
Trump predicted a full house for the 19,000 seat arena with 200,000 - 300,000 outside the building as an overflow crowd and where he and Pence would give a speech after the rally.

Reality - official tally inside the arena was 6,200 (Fire Marshall). The expected 2-300,000 outside for overflow was next to zero. The Trump and Pence speeches were canceled.

Trump raged, and blamed the disaster on the media, Obama, and on his own medical people who recommended social distancing and wearing masks. The true cost in increased sickness and death won't be seen for at least two weeks.

According to epidemiologists, the death count due to Trump's delay in acknowledging the pandemic ("It's a hoax") is 72,000+, and that's when the total was still under 100,000.

This morning I watched videos of the rally -- many empty seats all across the upper levels, yawning attendees rarely wearing masks and not practicing social distancing, excerpts from an hour and forty-one minutes of Trump's boasting and fabrications and meanderings.

His return this morning:

Glad I'm not campaign manager, Brad Parscale!

The picture of a sad, dejected failure.

Now post a photo showing the attendees.

The NYT reported:

"There was no soundtrack of carefully selected, inoffensive pop music blasting in the background. No reporters fighting over power outlets and positioning. No rope line for the candidate to walk, shaking hands and snapping selfies. Oh, and hardly any voters.

About 20 handpicked local officials, small-business owners and reporters sat in folding chairs, each placed within a large white circle taped on the floor of a recreation center to maintain — or at least encourage — social distancing. A few attendees whispered to each other as photographers quietly chatted. You could hear the clack of typing echoing across the room. The silence was striking."

The virus is a good excuse if he gets booted from the WH. The challenge is making a case for keeping him there. He did prove he could drink a glass of water with one hand though, which seems to be the highlight of his rally.

Trump's delay caused a number of deaths among Ukranian troops). The bribery deal was widely known among top WH personnel.

Trump attempted a similar bribe with XI - offering trade concessions for Biden dirt.

Mueller listed 10 charges of obstruction of justice by Trump, but Trump's Chancellor Barr declared Trump immune from prosecution as long as he is president. Barr then lied about the Mueller report before anyone had a chance to see it.

Trump was impeached with evidence that proved the charges far beyond a reasonable doubt, but the coward Republicans refused to vote for conviction.

Liberal dems think the Senate repubs were cowards. Conservatives think the House dems were cowards. Politics. I imagine that both groups generally thought they were doing what was right.

There is usually some truth to that - at least on a marginal basis. But not now - the differences are simply those between right and wrong. Even the Republicans know they're in the wrong and are trying to save their livelihood by associating with the orange dufus. The confessions and the weeping will be overwhelming come November.

No, it's plainly a matter of fact, not opinion. Even most Republicans know that. As for you, time for you to get your head out of you-know-where.

Did you mean "how", not "have"? I'm only replying to this one for comic relief.

"A legend in your own mind". Back to 4th grade now?

Another repeat. Is that the best you can do?

Nothing to reply to. It's really hard to discuss anything with you. You invent past occurrences. You claim to know what everyone believes. You lie with no regrets. You make statements and then get mad when they are not accepted. It's just pointless. I'll just let you prattle on.

I saw one of your senators explain it, basically achieving the same ends with different provisions. You guys need to learn to talk to each other

In light of the virus running wild in Texas, the governor is shutting businesses down.

Seems that people sucking down drinks in crowded bars is not the smartest way to control the spread. 2nd only to crowded "peaceful " protests as a cause.

I do neither, but I understand OUTRAGE surrounding police brutality. I also understand very well sucking down drinks in a crowded bar. Too old for either now. One can be controlled rather easily, the other is a RIGHT. I'll let you figure that out since both have consequences in today's situation.

Frugal is the right term Clete, and I have added Amazon and BBQ chips. Not really worried about my weight though, but I will take all the 2 ply mega rolls of people paper you can send. Expecting a second wave after we get through the first one.

Whatever the dufus says, we do the opposite.

Hiked this morning . Now I have a new hypothesis . Everyone is talking about the southern states disregard for caution . But here in NY we were the epicenter for a time .We went into lock down and established protocols that are the model for the world allegedly .(discounting the horrible blunder by il duce of making sure the most vulnerable and highest risk population got exposed to the virus big time).

But with all that we have experienced ,what I saw on the trail shocked me . Most of the hikers I came across were NOT wearing masks . How could this be ? We are in NY ,the bluest of the blue states where wearing masks has become a religious practice .

So my hypothesis is this . Either we have achieved herd immunity here . Or there will be a second wave here . Let's face it . There have been scores of people on the streets "peacefully "protesting over the last few weeks ..marching ...carrying Soros produced banners ... burning buildings , rioting ,fighting cops ,looting and tearing down statues . If indeed social distancing prevents the spread then it stands to reason that demonstrating in close proximity would create a spread . But I accept the possibility that everyone who could be wacked has been wacked here . If that is the case then maybe the Swedes had it right all along.

Hopefully being outdoors helps, as everything we have done hasn't stopped or controlled this virus, and hard to say anything but total shutdown will slow it. At this point though masks, distancing, and handwashing is all we got. I'm not sold on the herd immunity Tom, nor the Sweden comparison working here at this time. They still face challenges, but here we are watching NY closely for any indication of a second wave as everybody else is trying to restore the economy amidst a rather strong first wave.

At least people here are wearing masks again.
