I purchased a Lexmark All-in-One (printer, fax, scanner and copier). When I turned on the All-in One I could not move the mouse unless I unplugged the USB from the All-in -One. I was told by Lexmark I needed more memory. I have ME operating system. The speed is PC/100. I purchased 256MB SDRAM and installed it. I was told to update the BIOS also. I did everything and still my system is quite slow. It did resolve the problem of being able to use the All-in-One somewhat. What could the problem be?

Wher did you get the printer? I would call there and see if they will take it back, and try anouther brand.

Agreed. Call the place/store where you bought the printer and try and take it back. I had a Lexmark All-in-One printer myself. It shut down the 2nd month I had it.

Many of the Lexmark users are complaining about the printer. It will be better as suggested by others to change it with another brand (HP is quite good).

Windows ME was the worst version of Windows that Microsoft has released. Most ME machines will be able to run XP so I suggest upgrading.
In actuallity, throwing more RAM at ME is not going to help much since its still based on the Win 9x kernal. XP uses memory much more efficiently.
What is not clear here is whether the speed issues appeared only after installing the Lexmark printer. If so, try uninstalling it and see if that helps. If it does, return and get an HP.
