Hello All:
I am writing to ask about the safety of long-term exposure to things that we pay little attention to. I was wondering about --city tap water-- and the exposure of chlorine over time. Is this a possible cancer cause to felines? Would bottled water be a better diet? I realize rural area pet owners with well water may already know about mercury, lead and sulfur concerns,. but I really wondered about that chlorine taste in my city drinking water. THX! --James

One of my cats, Isadora, developed an ear infection that turned into a nightmare. After about 1 year of treatment - and then treatment about 4 months with an Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist for animals - the diagnosis was staphylococcus infection. She may have caught from water or something else but - I have since become leary of tap water and feed my cats only bottled water. Some of my friends think its funny - buy hey, I didn't think my vet bills were funny. But no, I don't think the tap water can cause cancer.
