I am 22 weeks pregnant and just noticed that my right nipple is bleeding. Both on it's own and when it's squeezed. I've read that this can be a sign of breast cancer, and am now scared because breast cancer runs in my family. The thing is I am only 19 so I feel like it is very unlikely to be something that serious. Does anyone have any ideas about what else this could be?

Thanks.

You are never too young for cancer! Go see your ob/gyn asap! Early detection is the best thing you can do. I don't mean to scare you, because it may be something minimal. Don't take it lightly though... Call Your Doctor Today!

Please get to your doctor to have this checked out. It could be something as serious as cancer, since you have family history, or something as minor as mastitis. But only your doctor can give you the correct diagnosis.

That is not a good sign and should be chekd (yesterday) age doesn't have a factor in breast cancer my friend had both breasts removed at 21 so better to be safe than sorry and put your mind at rest

I have a question for the lady who put this question up, I know it was almost 5 years ago, but did you see a doctor and what was the outcome? Im super worried as I'm 24 years old and 19 weeks pregnant and have had a little blood come from my right nipple and family history of breast cancer.

My child is now 14 yrs old but this happened to me. I went to a specialist and was told that some women get cyst on the glands that produce milk. It was benign and went away. In my case it cleared up soon after my son was born. It was pretty scary for blood to be leaking out where most women had milk. Messed up plenty of sheets because it would happen while I slept. You still need to go to the doctor to get checked out to be sure of what is going on though.
