I was stopped for shoplifting (a $6 eyeliner), that I forgot I had in my cart. I had bought other things and had put my coat in the cart (on top of the eyeliner, which I forgot I had). Anyway, I went out the door, still forgetting I had the eyeliner! Got to my car, removed my coat & saw the eyeliner! The line in the store was too long & I didn't want to go back & wait in line so I didn't. A Loss Prevention Specialist came out to my car & asked if I had anything I didn't pay for. I said Yes & told him what had happened. No go. The police were called (I was at the NEX, a Navy Base store. Then after papers were filled out, the officer handed me a ticket, charging me with shoplifting. How long does it take before I receive a court summons? I also have to pay $200.00 to the NEX by the end of the month. Pretty expensive eyeliner! I am a nervous wreck because I didn't tell my husband what happened. I am 64 yrs old & have never shoplifted in my life.

We cant tell you exactly how long it will take. Does it say anywhere on the ticket if there is a hearing?
