2006 Honda Odyssey acceleration noise rattling sound. hi i have an 06 odyssey with 170k miles on it. upon every initial acceleration it sounds like metal rattling, although i already checked all heat shields and middle shaft heat shield and brake shields too. i cant seem to identify where sound is coming from, it doesn't seem muffled like valve sounds might be. i have never adjusted valve lash yet in this motor. timing belt was done at 150k.

Engine knock? Try using higher octane gas and see if the noise goes away. If it does, try installing colder running NGK spark plugs.
