Could you recommend me some books (novels, novelas... ) that deal with power and corruption? It can be a contemporary book but also a classic piece of literature.

Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury

One event that to my mind is the essence of power and corruption is the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster of 1986.
Wikipedia has a very long entry on it, and how it has become a study of ethics for engineers, but it really doesn't tell the whole story.
I think the New York Times Magazine published Richard Feyman's story of his involvement, although attempts were made to shut him up (he was dying of cancer anyway).
If you can find that issue, it would make a really good report.
The one part that stays with me is when he tells of the top military man who fed him information secretly, because he couldn't do it openly.

Corruption between business and gov't is a never-ending horror show. It didn't start with the space shuttle, and it won't end there.

I can find the cut and dry Feynman report, but not the story he wrote about the real goings-on. This is the closest I can find, which only touches on it all.
