Please help :)

In the years between 1980-1990 I watched a then maybe already old movie that, to my recollection, starts with an ambush by men on horses on a small stone village on top of a hill in a desert-like surrounding. These men drive their horses up to stairs of stones up to a villa on top of the hill, with white sheets to protect people from the sun. There they kidnap a woman (blonde) and her son. The surroundings looked dry, sandy. Like Morocco, or maybe South America.

It could have been a Bud Spencer movie, but I am not sure. I checked his movies already.. I hope someone recognises this movie :)

Your description brought the movie image to my mind, and I thought I'd give it a try. It's not as great a movie as it might have been, but it's an enjoyable epic adventure.
