Hi,

I have Windows 98SE and I'm using IE 6 / SP1

I will be on for a short time and then it will freeze up while I'm on the internet and nothing will work. When I try do ctrl - alt - delete, I get the 'explorer not responding' and when I click 'end task' it does nothing. The only way to fix it is to do a total shutdown.

When I reboot it works for awhile then it happens again. This is happening randomly while surfing.

I have run Ad-aware and Spybot and my anti virus. Have reinstall IE6 but no change. Any tips or help you have would be appreciated. I could send you a copy of "Hijack This" that was taken today if that might help or be a good place to start. Please advise...

Thanks for your help

You say that you have tried Adaware and spybot, but did you run these in Safe Mode?

Have you made sure that you have ALL the currently available updates for IE ?

Failing that cut you losses and get Firefox.
It will run fine on Win98 and also doesn't hog as much resource as IE does.

I have no idea.. have you tried Firefox?
There's an unofficial service pack for Windows 98 that might help.
