View Full Version : Need help finding brand of tub faucet that uses cartridge JL02BJ

We bought our home as a foreclosure and in one of the bathrooms, there was no handle (just a pair of pincer pliers working the stem on the cartridge- nice right?) and no markings indicating a brand. Now that we are replacing it the only identifying marks we can find is the JB02BJ number on the cartridge (which is cracked). If we could find out what brand uses this cartridge we would just buy a whole new faucet system as all the other pieces are busted as well.

The escutcheon screws onto the valve and holds in the cartridge. There is also a secondary piece that also screws onto the cartridge (all of that sticks out from the base plate. I hope that helps somewhat.

It is taken all apart and as I said there was no handle so I tried to recreate what it looked like in the wall. There is also a pic of just the cartridge in the valve. Hope that can help. We really feel like we've exhausted all our avenues of finding the brand of this fixture.

I'm having trouble attaching the photos... the uploader is showing up blank pics... sorry.

Teryandal,

Great job with uploading the pictures, please see the attachment and respond if we can trace the name of the valve, other wise will suggest to replace the valve assembly with Moen or Delta faucet, Thanks.

There are no other markings on the plate other than the CSA and UPC symbols. We've looked all over and around it and the valve and the only markings we found are on the cartridge itself. We're really hoping to find a way around replacing the valve assembly because to get at it we would need to cut a hole in our double story entry as there is no other way to gain access to the tub workings. I have found the cartridge itself online but we need the whole assembly really as there is a lot of damage to the cover of the cartridge as well. It listed it as a Graff part but that's highly unlikely as thatseems to be a very high end brand and the people here before us... well, you can see all the soap scum on the escutcheon. If we could just find a brand that uses that cartridge or a compatible one that would really be great. Thanks for all your help.

Are you planing to do the job your self or will call for a plumber if so ask the plumber to replace the whole assembly with the brands that I suggested, an any case you will need to cut the wall to have access to the valve.

Also please wait for the other experts to see your post and will respond, Thanks.

I looked at my escutcheon and a similar pattern was noted. Mine is a Delta "monitor "

If you take the cartridge out and take a picture of it, we could ID it.

Thanks so much for your help. We ended up deciding to replace the whole shower unit so we will just replace with a Delta valve assembly while the wall is all open. We have one left from another project.
My 11 year old son (going on 21 of course) is excited to get a whole new shower as it will be his bathroom.

Thanks for the update wish you good luck with the new Delta Valve, my recommendation was delta and Moen from the beginning.
