Hi,

Just purchased an unframed portrait of Abraham Lincoln. I think it is an original oil on canvas since it has brush strokes and all the other makings of an original. It was probably painted by the artist from a photograph but I can't find any similar on the internet. Does anyone know what site I can go to to find a lot of portrait photos of Lincoln. Also, can anyone tell me how I can check to see if it is a chromolithograph. I'd like to sell it on Ebay and want to describe it correctly.

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Hello

Unfortunately you will need to go to an art expert and have the Painting appraised.

You could go to the above website and see prints selling for around $20 dollars or the originals selling for a few thousand , though it doesn't say when they were made or painted etc.

Without the age or Artist name , it could be worthless to worth a couple of thousand.

So yes I would get it appraised if you can.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Thanks for the info and it helps a lot. I'll go through the pictures and match them up with mine to see if it is among them. Then I'll send them an email and see what they can do for me.

Thanks again--I appreciate it,
