I have tried bengay but it just really burns. I have a hard time turning my head and lifting my arm on the left side.

Any strenuous exertions in the past 3 to 5 days?

Most pain of this sort is muscular contraction and stiffness, usually from staying in one position too long, especially when cold.
Your description is too vague, however. The left side is the heart attack side.
Soak in a tub or shower for as long as you can, while moving your neck and arm gently. Get a heating pad.

I haven't been able to lift my right arm for 8 months and it hurts in all directions. There are many possible reasons, the most common being bursitis.
If time, warmth, and gentle movement don't help for a week, see a doctor.

Hello

It could be possible that you have thrown your back out or have one or more disks in you back / neck out of place ( Slipped Disks ) .

This can be done be strenuous exertions from lifting heavy items to twisting the wrong way etc.

Note = Some years ago I Slipped 3 Disks while forking over the garden due to pulling the fork up etc which caused pain down one side of my back and neck.

Anyway you will need to go and see a specialist to look into what is causing your pain.

If it is a slipped disk or more you will need a specialist to push them back in.

Hope this helps.
