2001 Mazda Tribute v6 AWD cranks but won't start.
Cranked so many times that it almost killed the battery( relays, gages reset, click,click,click).
Can hear the fuel pump work & smell gas too.
What could it be?
How should I diagnosis the problem?

Have you ever checked for spark? No check engine light on?

. Remove and fully charge the battery--most auto parts stores will do this for free.

. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multi-meter.

. Check for codes--it may indicate a bad Crankshaft Position Sensor or a bad Camshaft Position Sensor, for instance.
