I do hope this is enough information since I really only saw very little of the actual movie itself. I remember three scenes distinctly: a group of people are rewatching a clip of a reporter talking into the camera when a large object (the creature which closely resembles a lion) busts through the side of a building in the background of the clip. The 2nd scene has the beast standing above a female and while the beasts lifts it's head it seems as though it's mouth is filling with liquid which, when it expels it onto the woman, turns out to be some sort of acid. The third scene is much like the second but with the difference of it being a male and he happens to have some sort of relic or artifact around his neck which, when the beast notices it, makes the beast flee. If anyone has any idea what this movie is please let me know, its been bugging me for the longest time. Note: I remember seeing the movie scenes back in either the mid or early 2000s with the beast having some moderately good CGI for the time.

Manticore (2005 TV movie/Sci Fi Channel)
From Wikipedia:
U.S. Army soldiers with the 10th Mountain Division stationed in Iraq are sent on a search to look for missing journalists. They come to a small Iraqi town and find a man-eating monster instead. The soldiers find out that the residents of the town are dead and discover a living "Weapon of Mass Destruction", a Manticore. The monster was awakened from its long slumber by an Iraqi insurgent leader wanting to rid the country of foreign occupation forces at any price. The Manticore goes on a killing rampage; soon, the only ones left are Baxter, Keats, and Ashley Pierce. The Manticore kills Ashley by spitting acid on her face before eating her alive, but Baxter and Keats manage to kill it...
