Hi, I was diagnosed with this 5 yrs ago, it runied my life, I had very painful sex and very irregular periods, it took my 2 yrs to conceive my second child, after I had him I was told that the endometriosis would clear but it didn't, so I was given the mireana coil in 2005, things have been goos since then, but for the past 6 or so months I have been getting very very heavy periods lots of blood clots too sorry TMI, and sexafterwards has become painful, what shall I do? Go and see my doctor? Could this be the endometriosis?
Thanks in advance
Sammy

It very well could be a recurrence of your endometriosis. You need to make an appointment with your doctor as it is impossible to correctly diagnose your condition.

I agree with J_9, endometriosis can come back. Please make an appointment with your doctor and explain your symptoms just like you stated here. You need some help and your doctor is the best one to do that for you.

Honestly, I don't think it ever goes away it just goes dormant during certain times (like some medical treatments and pregnancy... )
Mine came back fullforce 2 years after the birth of my son (and due to adhesions was miserable during the c-section... they had trouble putting me back together)
Best wishes and good luck!

I know when my oldest son was born, my doctor said he would check to see if the endometriosis was still present. Since I had a c-section, it was a good opportunity. He stated that there were no signs of endometriosis, all was clear. So it was with great surprise that, in 6 months, it started coming back. At first my ob/gyn would not believe it, he sent me to a lower GI specialist, thinking I had some problems there. But I was all clear there. Within a year I was in so much pain. Did the scope and biopsy, did the polyp removal once again and subsequently was recommended for a hysterectomy.
That was 1986 and medicine has made many advances in treatments. I truly hope you have great success and total health restored to you.
