I current work in a call centre where I solve basic troubleshooting of windows and PC software problems. I also maintain data of customers (i.e. create use accounts, email accounts, and give access to folders for all customers). I enjoy doing the second, however, I do not like my role of answering calls and listening to users being disrespectful. I also have a degree in IT but I hate programming and that is why I took this job. Having said so, I applied for a software support specialist and I got chosen.
I would have a much better salary in this role, however, I am still note sure if I want a career which consists mainly of SQL since I am not that passionate about it (I do not hate SQL, I just don't have any working experience and I am afraid that I would not like to work with it for a number of years).
How can one decide when choosing between 2 jobs? Any tips that work? I want to make a mature decisions which I would not regret since I have adjusted and really like my team mates, however, I feel that my degree and qualifications are not being appreciated

I'd make a list of the pro's and con's of each and compare. Then also look at future advancement opportunities with each.

People normally work to be happy or they work for the money.
So you work a job you don't like, for more money
Or you work a job you like,

You may be surprised how many people, do not even work in the field of their degree
