I bought a house built in 1946. The stairs were redone horribly. My husband and I rebuilt them but there isn't enough headroom between the stairs and ceiling. There isn't an option to move the stairs back at all as there is a landing from the side door to the house and the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs starts with a supporting beam for the structure of the house. Can anyone give suggestions on what my options are?
