I am living with someone I was dating and he has been living in my house for 8 months. I am renting. He does not have a key and his name does not appear on either the lease or any of the utility bills.

We do not get along and I have asked him to leave but he is refusing.

He is not abusive and he does give me money for rent and utilities. I no longer want a relationship with him.

What can I legally do to get him out?

Since you don't have him on a lease or anything it should be reasonably easy. He has to be paid up until the end of the month. Tell him he has to be out at that point. If he doesn't have a key then just don't let him in after that point. Arrange a time for him to get any stuff he left after the end of the month. Make sure you have friends to 'back you up' so to speak.

I don't think he has any legal recourse for this. I think you can say you want him out and he has to leave, I don't think he has a right to stay.
