Hello:

If you're a right wing Evangelical supporter of Israel, do you do that because you LOVE the Jews, or you want them to be DESTROYED? How true is the following paragraph?

In order for Jesus to return and establish his Kingdom, the state of Israel must first be conquered by an invading army (preferably Persian or Arab) – because God says so. The unfortunate part (if you’re Jewish, at least) is that before Christ descends from the clouds, a holocaust of sorts must occur, resulting in the deaths of 2/3 of Israel’s people. For certain Christians, then, Israel must exist as a state (which is why they defend it so passionately), but it must also suffer immensely so that Christians can escape physical death in the form of the Rapture.

Yes, most of the Evangelicals have the Bible interpretation completely wrong about Israel. Most of the main line religions (even those conservative ones) do not see Israel as being God's chosen people any longer since they have started following the writings of man more than God's book.

The good book doesn’t speak of the physical destruction of Israel but it does speak of the attempted spiritual destruction of Israel. So it may not be a location event.

As a Jew, that doesn't sound any better. Christians want to SAVE the Jews by destroying their religion??? Dude!

Well now you are putting words in my mouth, or in my type as it were.

I was just saying what Revelations spoke to. It calls for wars to end all wars, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.

Not many people will be having a good time during the end of times.

I for one hope the State of Israel lasts forever .

Well if you believe the Bible to be true, metaphorically speaking it will, much to Satan's angst.

I have to give OB credit, by giving IRAN the Bomb he is betting that Israel is done for.

If God has ordained and controls what happens what are you puny humans griping about? Make your peace, and let God do his thing.

yes that was sorta my point.

Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone , and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: And I will make them one nation………….. {Ezekiel 37:21,22}

Christian literalists believe at least 2/3 of Israel's population has to be destroyed by Persia or the Arabs before we will all be raptured and Christ will return in glory.

This literalist believes ....The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways."(Deuteronomy 28:7)

I respect different interpretations . I just don't buy into all the Book of Revelations stuff. For one thing,I don't believe it was written by an Apostle . It is so out of style and character with the rest of the NT .

It had almost missed the cut into the canon. Plus, it applies to Nero and his buddies, so the prophecies have been fulfilled.

Maybe as the last book of the bible and the prophecy of the coming end to the new beginning, Revelations should be out of style and character to the rest of the Bible. I took a class on it once and it’s incredible interesting.

Armaggedon, well ex we are certainly in some of the events described, death rules in parts of the world, but the armies of the East are yet to emerge so don't write us off just yet. People like to read these things and see each as a finite event, maybe they are and maybe they are events that streach over long periods, incrumental in their effect. Israel is a cross raods between three continents and therefore it is to be expected that that land will be traversed
