I am 12. My mom moved to Alaska 5 months ago and we got to see her about 2 months ago. She moved there so she could be with her boyfriend. After we got there she asked if we want to live with her. I really didn't want to but I also did not want to hurt her feelings so I said sure. That was about one month ago. Just recently I told her I don't want to live here. I asked her if she could move back with me because I missed her so much when she was gone. But she doesn't want to move back with me. I think it's because of her boyfriend. I am in a deep depression because I think she loves him more than me. Please help I really need advise. I try to talk to her about it but she always says, 'I love you but, I love him to." I suffer from depression and take medication for it and right now it just seems like nothing helps. Please help me.

Since you are 12... and you wanted your mom to come live with you, I am assuming you lived with your father. Because at 12 you do not have your own place.

This means your parents have broken up and are probably divorced. And that's why she doesn't live with you any more.

Something you will learn as you get older and become a parent yourself one day. Love your parent has for you and what they have for someone else is not an all or nothing situation. They are different and having one does not require the absence of the other.

Therefore the more or less argument does not apply because they are different. Have you ever heard the phrase...comparing apples to oranges...before.

The fact she asked you to come live with her...that .says a lot. Specifically that she does love you very much.

Your mom loves her boyfriend "different" A parent has the right to find happiness with another adult. Your are being selfish and not considerate of your mother. You should be happy for her and learn to share her happiness.

I suffered from depression too, because my mother was miserable and hated all of us, yet she stayed married to my father. The other side of your coin!
I think I probably would have traded places with you back then.
There's little any of us can say, because as a child, you cannot chose your life.
You are here on this site because you have access to a computer. Use that computer to be in contact with your mother, via Facebook, email, instagram, Skype for talking, and so on. Have you done that and it doesn't feel like enough?
