Sometimes the insurance decides to not settle. What was your claim and how did it come about?

Only 2 months? Boy are you impatient...

My wife's took over 3 years... some take far longer than that. Of course you might get lucky and it will take less.

It took my case about 8 years, and we finally settled in the back row of seats in the court house before the case started.

The insurance company knew I was out of work, out of money and tried to push and push the date out, as collection companies started calling, and so on.

You sent your demands, then they laugh and send back a offer often 1/2 of that. Settle is a term as to when you are willing to take what they offer you.

Do you have an attorney representing you?

There are two reasons I ask:
1. Your attorney should be better able to answer your question; and
2. If it's a good case, there is really no reason not to. In many states attorney fees are awarded in addition to what you are awarded, and the attorney can only charge you what fees are awarded.
