Here is a point of interest from one of the church members. Her dryer wouldn't start.
It was out of warranty. GE said there would be a $89.99 charge plus parts.
Turn out it was just the plastic timer knob which cost $36.00. But she was charged $167.00

She was charged under the heading of labor: Home call Charge $89.95 and Explain Operation Vent and Duct Fau $40.99. The repairment came in replaced the knob and left. About 5 minutes
The latter charge was never explained beforehand. Finally after contestation the charge
Was dismissed.
Ever hear anything like it??

Ever hear anything like it??

Such stories are common.
Charge should have been challenged at the time the bill was presented.
