Hi,

I'm currently fitting out a food truck that will specialize in BBQ recipes and am wondering if you could assist me in whether there would be any issue with, if I installed the gas cylinder outside, installing a BBQ, along with adequate venting, inside a food truck?

Regards

Check with your local health department to determine what licenses and permits your municipality requires for your type of BBQ food trailer.

Plan Submission

You must have your mobile BBQ food trailer inspected by the county health inspector for your district. Prior to the inspection, you must present a set of plans for the trailer, which must include a drawing of the interior of the trailer and list the materials used for construction. The plans must also include a diagram of the plumbing and list the type of material used for the plumbing system. Most of the same regulations that apply to a restaurant apply to your food trailer except that you are not required to install a bathroom.

Licenses and Permits

Food trailers can be classified as fixed or mobile. A fixed food trailer operates in one location, such as for a fair or festival while a mobile unit can travel to multiple locations to serve the customers. You must apply for the proper license and permit to operate your type of trailer. Certain cities are considering awarding a food and service grade to the food trailers, such as a, B, C or lower. Mobile food trailers receiving a grade less than a C would be forced to close until the owner can correct the problems.Check with your local health department to determine what licenses and permits your municipality requires for your type of BBQ food trailer.
