I'm getting ready to start a paternity test through the court of Indiana and I don't want my son's father to have visitation because he drinks from the time he gets home to when he passes out and he has major anger problems and has dropped my son multiple times and is threatening me and my family not physical but mental. Could I use my family and friends in court to keep him from having him?

... Could I use my family and friends in court to keep him from having him? You suggest that there is a court case pending. Is this for anything but child support? If not, you need to petition the court to award you custody of the child. Assuming there is a pending action for custody &/ or visitation, yes, of course. Those family and friends who know the child's father's conduct could certainly testify in your behalf.

Also if what you are saying is true then you could request through the courts that he be tested on a regular and sometimes surprise basis. That way if he is drinking then it can be monitored and also conditional to having custody.

If he files a motion for visitation, it will be very hard to keep him from having visits. You may with proof, (evidence used for court) They may ask for drug and drink testing, if your evidence is strong.

But at least supervised visits would be given, and perhaps a demand for parenting classes. The court will not keep the child away from the father, even a dangerous father can often get at least supervised visits.

When the child was dropped, who witnessed it? Was child taken to hospital or doctor? Also, remember most couples when they divorce, yell, curse, threaten to some level each other. Many on child custody, attempt to keep child from other parent.

So, non related people, who are friends with both of you, will make best witnesses.
