I have a Jack Russell Terrier, he is one-year-old and I have him for about eight months. He is really friendly to everyone, sometimes I take him out off leash, but he never had any problem with strangers, I take him to Dog Park every week and he gets along well with everyone or even other dogs. Whenever I have a guest at my place he loves playing with them and never get aggressive to anyone. However, he just hates one of my neighbours and his family, for no reason he keeps barking when he see them, he has three children and they are always playing outside and he always gets aggressive when he sees the children or their parents, this problem got worst yesterday when he escaped from the backyard to bite them. I thought he might not like children but he doesn’t have any problem with other children and he just hates these three kids. I also thought he might get aggressive because he see them around our place and wants to protect his home, but he gets along well with other neighbours and he just has a problem with this family. Now I am really scared and confuse and I don’t know what to do!

Your thoughts about him protecting his territory are probably spot on. There is always a slight chance the neighbors may have done something that make him fear them. Dogs bark and act aggressive when they are afraid of someone or something. His bark says you worry me.

But now you have a serious issue, since he has bitten someone. This opens you up for law suits, and even to have the dog taken away, or if you rent, the landlord demanding you get rid of the dog.
