I'm getting divorced & my ex is dead set on keeping my child from my new friend. Our marriage was over quite some time ago. So far his lawyer has been able to get the judge to agree on not letting our child around my friend Robin because he is a convicted felon. No convictions against children is not a registered offender. I know they will cont to pursue this even though they know nothing about him. He has children n grandchildren he sees regularly. I plan to be with a Robin the rest of my life. We are unable to find a key note stating a judge can grant a request to keep a minor from a convicted felon who's crime did not lead him to be register offender. Waiting on trial now n so worried about it. My ex wants to do this to get back at me for wanting a divorce. We had no love or intimacy for Sev years the marriage was based on convenience.

Without a lawyer, the cards are stacked against you.

We are not a court of law and you are anonymous, so there is no reason to withhold what Robin's felony is. Same when you talk to your lawyer - no need to be coy.
It sounds like the court agreement to the request to keep the child away from him is temporary, pending your court date together. Understandable.
Exes do all sorts of vengeful things like this, and judges are fully aware of them.
Try to concentrate on what you do need to know, and what information you need to gather in a neat, organized, articulate way, instead of agonizing. (I know, easy for me to say, but DO IT.)

PS: convicted felon is redundant - it's just felon.

What was he convicted of? If it was something gang related or violent then the judge is well within his rights to decide on the matter.

Also how long as he been released?

But the way you fight this is to get character witnesses to attest that he is rehabilitated and no longer poses a threat to society or anyone.
