Trying to replace pressure switch; drained water but pressure gauge says 95 psi-holding tank is 25 psi. why is the pressure gauge remaining at 95psi. Currently no water in house since last night(sat 4/17)

Sounds like a defective gauge. If the system is off and drained, then the gauge should read zero, even if you have charged the tank to 25. The gauge does not read that, but reads pressure once the pump cuts on and the tank begins to fill.
