My fiance's parents have been separated for 7 years and divorced for two. Since the divorce her father has been giving her mother a hard time about everything that was agreed upon in the divorce.
For example, most recently, according to the state of CT the father is supposed to pay for the children to go to college. He is forcing them to get student loans even though he is responsible for up to $20,000. He only paid $3,000 for one semester of one of the son's college and refused to pay for a meal plan for him stating that it was not part of the tuition package. Now we are having to feed him since he lives close to our apartment.
I have heard horror stories about the divorce lawyers in CT and the mother cannot afford to get a lawyer herself. What are her options?

Try and find a legal aid assistance in the state. She can go and look for similar cases and copy their motions and file against him.

She needs to take him back to familiy court.

And personally the child should call him up and tell him what he things about it also ( but hey that is just me) dead beat dads are dead beat dads, we get dozens of them on here each week, wanting to know how not to pay their child support.

It is very hard to come into this situation. I have been with my fiancé for almost two years and have seen this abuse for so long and feel absolutely helpless. He keeps saying that he is going to get his lawyer involved again because he knows that she can't afford one.
